The Hunger Games
I sacrificed most of last nights sleep to this book. That’s the highest praise I can give since I’m a mom with two kids. Completely addictive; compelling- put down whatever you’re reading and go buy this immediately.
I will put in a few words of caution though. You will read this in one go- there is no way of putting it down once you’ve started in. I almost peed my pants; it’s that difficult to put down. I started at 945pm and finished at 145am, so give yourself at least that much time.
This is only the first book in a series, and it just came out, so you will be waiting a while for the next one. That’s in case you care (some people like to read a series after all the books have come out; I am not one of those people).
That’s my review in a nutshell. I don’t want to ruin the experience for anyone, and reading this book is an experience you won’t soon forget(the rest of my night was spent absorbing, and dreaming, about this book). Enjoy.

This is a great book Laura. Although you scared me when you told me about the violence. It’s true that there are deaths in this book and they are sad and unfortunately intentional but they are not gory or glorified so you don’t have to worry about disgusting nightmares. It is a terrifying scenario of the future of North America. Very well written and easy to follow. Katniss is a great heroine. I’m looking forward to the next book.
