Pushing Daisies – Comfort Food

So Laura, we got lucky.  Dwight was standing by and bit the dust.  Good call.  I couldn’t believe it actually happened.  I thought he was going to cause some major problems.  Major problems.  It’s almost anti-climatic that he’s dead but since the show is ending soon I guess I’m glad that one issue is wrapped up.  It was hilarious to me when he was coming back to life in Chuck’s imagination.  The first time it happened I thought he was really alive and just faking death.  I loved when Chuck threw the shovel full of dirt on his face to make him shut up.

I’m really glad we got to see Chuck and Ned talk to Chuck’s father.  I was surprised that he stayed alive.  I didn’t think Ned would allow it so it surprised me that Chuck was able to fool him by putting a glove on his hand.  You’d think Ned would notice but maybe he was so disturbed by the whole situation that it slid past him.  I really loved when they showed Ned and Chuck curled up together in bed.  Although, I looked at Ned’s arm wrapped in plastic and just thought about how sweaty and uncomfortable that would be.  I’m so unromantic.

I absolutely loved the Comfort Food Cook-Off.  How fun was it to have all the different cooking spaces decorated and the contestants in costume?  I loved when the fried dead guy ate a piece of fried matter from his arm.  Too funny.  And Olive singing was amazing.  She is a really gifted actress.  They’re lucky to have her on the show though I’m sad that her character is back to pining over Ned.  I had hoped for her sake that she was over him.  Oh, well.

I’m glad there’s another show next week so we can see how Ned reacts to Chuck’s dad.  That’s gonna be a sticky situation.  What do you think he’s going to do?

I almost vomited when he took a bite out of himself- I was eating and completely lost my appetite. OMG! I thought he was faking for a minute too, and then I couldn’t believe that he was really and truly dead. I keep wondering if Chuck and Ned’s Dad’s are the real bad guys in all of this, and maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to bring Chucks Dad back. How gross is it that he looks like a molten skeleton too. I wonder if Neds Dad is going to come back, now that Dwight is gone. Unfortunately there’s only one episode left, so we may never know. I love it when Olive sings- she has the most amazing voice. I’m so sad my wed. nights are almost over.

This was a great episode! Although with the 2 storylines running concurrently it wasn’t as in-depth a murder (the fried guy that is)

Chuck’s dad seems nice. I’m glad this show has people keep their same personalities they had when alive no matter how long they’ve been dead and decomposing.

When Olive started to sing I just wanted to get up and cheer. Her lovesick crooning just cracks me up. Plus I loved Eternal Flame by the Bangles back in the day.

PS. Olive plays Reese Witherspoone’s sister in Four Christmases. She’s such a great character actress, I just feel like she steals the scene no matter what it is because she is so animated and believable.
