For the Mom’s out there-

My husband (sort of a mutual decision, but I cried, a lot) has decided that we must go on a budget. When he mentioned all my magazine subscriptions as a drop item, I was a little too happy to tell him I had already renewed them all for the year. Yippee! One of the magazines I read is “Wondertime” and they had this very funny article I wanted to share with everyone.
I don’t want to get in trouble for copyrighted stuff, so here’s the link to read it for yourself-
http://wondertime.go.com/parent-to-parent/article/the-great-divide.html

it’s about how friendships change after kids, and she groups her single friends into categories that really hit home to me.  I spit on myself laughing at group number one “I love kids and I’m really close to my nieces and nephews.”  Group number two was something I put up with when I was still working (on more then one occasion).  I just want to clarify that not all my single friends(or relatives) fall into these categories- but it was fun to get a good laugh at(with) the ones that do.

I enjoyed the comments about the pets. Pets are not children, people. Now, this is not coming from a pet owner so I don’t know the love you can have for a pet but I am freaking, for sure, that it is not comparable to the love that I have for my children. There. I’ve said it. Hate me if you will.

This is SO right! It makes perfect sense for my few friends that I feel like I can’t relate to very well anymore. And although I never looked at it this way- I totally agree that it’s because they are in a selfish place in life! sigh…

Did you tell Ben I gave you two of the magazines? Loved that article from Wondertime except for the gay comment. Just saw a friend that treats his dog like a child, although his current dog is bigger than some ponies. I think I would rather clean up after a child.
