The Biggest Loser: Week 6

picture-5What an emotional week.  At the very beginning of the show the did a “Pop Challenge,” like a pop quiz.  Just pulled them out of the house and out by the pool where they had to stand on a block on one foot.  Whoever stayed on the longest won 24 hours with a loved one on the ranch.  It got down to four people and all of a sudden Mandi starts asking people to step off their block and give her the reward.  They did and she won.

Then she’s so excited and tells Jillian what she’s won and Jillian flips out.  Telling her she’s the last person she would have wanted to win that particular reward.  Jillian is afraid it will be too distracting and that she wont lose the weight.  I was kind of devastated for Mandi when Jillian went off on her.  Turned out OK though.  She lost 6 lbs which is respectable.

Then we have the purple team beating out the green team in a head to head immunity competition.  I was so proud of the purple team.  I know everyone I talk to is all about Tara but I’m not.  She gets on my nerves so I was overjoyed with the purple team as they celebrated their victory.

And oh boy did they need it.  Cathy pulled off a 4 which is OK, not great, but then Kristin gets +2.  She was one pound away from being in the 200s and the poor girl pulls a +2?  How devastating.  My heart was crushed for her.  Thank goodness they won immunity.

Then, I told you she gets on my nerves, but what was up with the waterworks from Tara when the black team was up for elimination?  And the yellow team lost it too.  The black team must have been awful nice for everyone to fall apart like that.

They are now doing single eliminations.  A team falls under the yellow line and only one of its members goes home.  So here’s Bob going around telling all his team members to vote of Dane.  ”Vote only Dane.”  I can’t wait to see what he has to say next week when he find out two of his teams voted for Blaine.

Blaine was very convincing as he tried to get the group to vote for him since he has a newborn at home that he’d like to see.  I would have voted for him to go home for sure after that speech.  I’m so excited that Blaine is going to do an Iron Man before the finale.  What a great goal.  Not one that I ever plan on doing but a great goal for him.

I’m just ecstatic that Sione and Filipe are doing so well.  They did exceptionally well this week.

Oh, and who can forget the huge number Mike from the brown team pulled off (13).  That poor kid has to pull the weight for himself and his father.  I’m glad they got his eating worked out so he got the number he deserved this week.

This was an emotional episode for me.  How about you?

So upsetting that they had the rule change this week! I totally wanted Carla to stay on the ranch- so I was so annoyed that they choose this week to change it up. I’m glad they all voted for Blaine- he totally got me with that speech, I couldn’t believe some of the teams were still gunning for Dane after that. I also couldn’t figure out how Kristen could have gained two pounds?! I realize she probably wasn’t working as hard because she had immunity- but she had to be eating some serious crap to actually gain weight on the ranch. Right?

I think that the scene at the end where everyone was discussing who to vote off was the result of editing. When Kristen asked why they voted off Damien and it seemed like there was just dead silence….what are the odds that NO ONE answered? I think that was editing.

Also, interesting play by the pink team to do what Bob asked and vote for Dane to leave. They are a weak team, so I wonder how other people (who are there through the heart, not to just win the money and walk away) will treat them when the pink team falls below the yellow line. I’m pretty sick of the yellow team. I like Mandi ok, but it seems like Aubrey is just full of excuses and has an attitude. In fact, it seems like most of the people who went home and then came back have excuses and attitudes! Do I just not like them because I haven’t seen them as much? Also, about the purple team—I think that Kristen totally would have voted for Dane but her mom wanted to go for Blaine.

Thats interesting that Tara gets on your nerves. The whole time she was talking and crying at the end, I was just thinking “she’s so golden for the discussions”.
