Man v Food: San Jose
That’s right. Adam came right to my backdoor and I didn’t even know it. I am so excited to see where he’s gone in SJ. Here’s the Travel Channel’s blurb:
This week, Adam Richman’s chow down quest brings him to the capital of Silicon Valley: San Jose, California. He makes his first stop at Henry’s World Famous Hi-Life , where open pit steaks and barbecue have been grilled up for nearly 50 years. Adam settles on Hi-Life’s baby back ribs. One rack is the length of his forearm, packed with dry rub spices, and both steamed and grilled to perfection. After licking his fingers clean, Adam is off to Iguana’s Burritozilla, the place for burritos in San Jose. The biggest beast on the menu is Iguana’s namesake: the Burritozilla. At over 5 pounds and 17 inches, downing this burrito is one serious challenge.
But Adam’s challenge is still ahead of him. Smoke Eaters is host to a wing challenge so hot that it isn’t even on the menu. To defeat the Hellfire Challenge, Adam must eat 12 wings drenched in a blend of sauces and spices, the most potent of which is ground habanero peppers. But Adam has to do more than stomach these firecrackers. He has to survive a brutal five-minute waiting period afterwards. No napkin, no beverage, nothing to ease the pain. Can Adam beat the heat, or will he go down in flames?
Man v Food is on Wednesdays at 10pm PST on The Travel Channel.

I’ve been to Iguanas before- it’s right next to San Jose State. I don’t remember loving their burritos (they’re huge) but they had these nacho fries that were fantastic! Never even heard of Henrys Hi-life- so it can’t be that world famous! It’s also sort of in a weird neighborhood- next to the pavillon. Can’t wait to watch this episode though!
