Chuck: Chuck Versus the Dream Job

821_nup_133874_0013I know it would break my heart in two if Chuck actually left the Buy More but to see him land his dream job and then have to make such a fool out of himself that even lowly Apple or Microsoft wouldn’t even take him after that was so sad.  So sad.

But I’m skipping ahead here.  We all knew from the previews last week that Chuck’s dad was more than just a crazy person but I never, ever expected him to be Orion.  Did you?  Scott Bakula did a great job playing a crazy Stephen Bartowzki to the point that I honestly forgot about the previews and thought maybe he used to be an agent but he’s a kook now.  I did believe him though when he said the Chevy Chase character stole all of his ideas.  I believed it because I saw the previews.  Sometimes I feel like they give too much away.  They certainly didn’t give away the bit about Orion though, or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention.

I absolutely loved it when Chuck got all dressed up and turned the tranq gun on Casey.  It was hilarious that he didn’t know they were tranq guns until Casey pointed it out.  Then to watch Casey succumb to the effects of the darts had me cracking up.  Especially when Chuck stuck him in the neck with one.  Then when Chuck took out all the Folcrum agents/security guards and they all fell in a heap at once I totally laughed out loud.  I don’t for one second believe though that he wouldn’t have hit his father.  That’s ridiculous.

I really like that Sr Bartowski did tell Chuck to trust his handlers.  That was definitely the best thing he could have done for Chuck.

The Buy More didn’t really play in this week.  The parts with Lester and Jeff weren’t even funny.  They were total afterthoughts it felt like.  Contributed absolutely nothing.

I’m sad to see Chuck going to his ex-girlfriend next week but I’m hoping for some fun.  Do you feel bad for Ellie?  First the bachelor party (which I’m still pissed off at the freaking biatch agent that took all those pictures with Awesome when he was passed out) and then her dad walking out again.  Poor girl.  Do you think Chuck’s going to make it to the wedding?

Chuck is on Mondays at 8pm PT on NBC.

ooo, I totally thought Orion was Chuck’s dad—-but before he blew up in the helicopter. Wasn’t the Fulcrum agent with the accent supposedly in the helicopter too? How did they pull off that switch?

And how does Orion, who has evaded detection for all these years, suddenly walk into a Fulcrum trap and then let his guard down when he is inside Roark Industries, supposedly a huge super computer intersect too, without any explanation? Those two things didn’t add up for me.

I agree with you—Poor Ellie.

Oooh, I just loved this episode! My husband and I loved that they used Scott Bakula. Not only did he do a great job at crazy, but I thought he and Chuck actually look like they could be father and son. (Plus, I used to watch Quantun Leap!)

Yes, poor Ellie. That’s an interesting thought about Chuck missing the wedding… I’m betting it will be the usual. He’ll have to run out, but Sarah will make sure he gets back (and possibly shows up late) to the ceremony. We’ll see…
