The Bachelorette: Spain
I’m going to try really hard to put this post together but Elaine really is better at this than I am. I have to be honest. I get so confused with which guy is which and who’s family belongs to who but I’m going to at least try to start the discussion.
So we have two weeks to catch up on. I didn’t have any real clear impressions from any of the families last week. I thought they were all nice and I thought they were very accepting of Jillian. I thought the break dancer maybe had a little too much fun and that’s why he didn’t get a rose.
Of course Wes’ family thinks he’s great. They’ve never dated him. He doesn’t go back to them and tell all the sordid details of his intimate life. I did feel after seeing his family that he was more misguided than pure evil. Though I’m sure you will disagree with that.
I was so happy that Jake came back and talked to Jillian. I’m just mad that Tanner didn’t say anything before he left. I loved the confrontation between Jake and Wes and I my only disappointment is that it didn’t turn into a Jerry Springer episode. That would have been awesome.
Now Spain, how romantic is that? I loved all the dates with the exception of Wes’ which was just so uncomfortable. I’m going to go ahead and say that Ed is my favorite. I am of course royally bummed that we didn’t get to meet his family but there’s something about Ed and Jillian together that is just magical. I love it. I love that he came back for her. He finally met the girl that he could put in front of his career. That’s a huge step. I just hope it works out for him.
Did anyone else get totally grossed out when Jillian and Wes were reading the invitation to the fantasy suite and Wes was like, “I think we should do it!” After having the most awkward date in the history of the word the guy just wants to get in her pants. He just wanted some action. He could have cared less who it was with which was testified later at the rose ceremony where he said something along the lines of “If I leave, know that I’ll be having lots of sex.” Now that is classy. If he’s going down, he’s going down with his guns blazing.
I’m just glad he’s gone. Low down, horny bastard but I’m not sure he’s the evil to end all evil. People use reality TV to further their careers all the time. I’m just sorry Jillian had to get hurt by it.
So I’ve already pledged my allegiance to Ed. Who do want to see her end up with?
The Bachelorette is on Mondays at 8pm on ABC.

I’ve been reading some very interesting blogs about how Wes was portrayed on the show. He’s given a couple of interviews about how is interviews were spliced in with other interviews and many of the things he said were completely taken out of context.
I’m so over this show.

Elaine got me hooked last week when her TV was down, and so now I feel invested. I was so confused about why everyone hated Wes so much(since I’m coming in late) until his limo exit interview. Seriously reminded me of something you’d see on cable (ie VH1 Rock of love)- how acting like a complete a-hole on tv is going to sell more records is absolutely beyond me. I really love Kiptyn (sp?) except his mother is absolutely terrifying, and I thought putting Jillian through a wine and lasagna taste test was just bizarre and rude. With that being said, I think Ed is my favorite too, he has that Mr. Big from Sex in the City quality to him that makes me just love him.

I AM SO GLAD WES IS GONE.
Even if stuff was spliced together, he still had to say all the words. “I’m probably the first guy in Bachelorette history to make it to the final four with a girlfriend!” “I’ve made it through 6 shows. I’ve got all the publicity I need. I’ve alreayd played my songs for her and done a preformance with my band.” It didn’t take much for the producers to make him look bad. He had done a bang-up job of that himself.
I’m glad Ed’s back, too. I really can’t guess who she’ll end up with. From the look of the previews, it looks like the guy she picks doesn’t want to propose, which make me think it might be Kiptyn. I don’t know. Next week will be interesting.

Not loving Ed. I don’t think he is as sincere as I want him to be. I am the odd one out on this one, though. I just barely started watching this season, though.

Thank you for posting!!! I know it is not “your” show so I appreciate it!
Hmmm, nobody is talking about Reid. Do you think they are making us think it won’t be him and then it will be? I ♥ Ed too, but it bugs me how he doesn’t look at her when he talks. Maybe just around the cameras? I think the remaining 3 are pretty good guys. I am a little worried about Reid’s commitment issue. She may end up getting hurt. BRING BACK JAKE!
Anyhow, just so glad that Wes is gone. SLIME BALL! Some good twists this season though!
First time I have ever watched where they did not use the fantasy suite cards…
