This sucks!! I don't see how a studio could refuse to sell their movies to a vendor. Would they stop selling to Wal-mart if they marked down all new-releases to $5? If a company has found a way to make themselves more profitable, more power to them. Don't penalize them for it. The only bright side I can see to this is that when the movies DO finally come to Redbox, they won't be sold out for the first week. We ONLY use Redbox. This sucks!! And stupid. The big studios are banking on people wanting to see the movie bad enough that they will just buy the stupid thing rather than wait (all hail our culture's need for Instant Gratification) but I think that what will happen is people will forget about the movies. If they don't see them in the theater they will forget about them and it will hurt the red box's business a lot. Either the studios need to lower ticket prices (did you know movie theaters don't make profit on their ticket sales? Only concessions. All ticket sales go to the studio) or else they need to let RedBox do some business in a free market economy. All these laws and regulations and lawsuits is what is ruining America. Live and let live people. I think that is retarded. And stupid.
