Glee: Preggers

Screen shot 2009-09-24 at 1.00.47 PMWhen Quinn told Finn (huh- rhyming names…) that she was pregnant, my first thought was, “Why is everyone lying about being pregnant?!” And then, about 10 minutes later, I pretty much guessed what the real story was. Big surprise… president of the Celibacy Club is not exactly celibate. And nor is she faithful to her boyfriend. Still, who is dumb enough to think that someone can get pregnant in a hot tub, without having sex?! I wonder how long that lie will last. But even funnier, is Terri going to try and adopt Quinn’s baby? All while keeping her pregnancy a lie? This is getting good… But as my husband pointed out to me last night, the only problem with this show is the “unrealistic” factor. What husband is never going to touch his wife’s belly for an entire pregnancy? What wife could possibly carry out a lie of that magnitude for 9 months? What guy would believe he could get a girl pregnant, in a hot tub, without having sex? Anyway… I’m trying to not think about that factor so as to be able to keep enjoying the show.

The entire gay scenario was inevitable. As homosexuality is becoming more mainstream, shows are forced to show that side, and most are wanting it to be more widely accepted. While I don’t feel this is the place to voice my opinions about homosexuality, I did love the scene with Kurt and his dad. And especially how his dad reacted. Being a parent, I hope that I would have a similar reaction if faced with that scenario. I’d want my child to know that I loved them, no matter what. (I do love that Kurt “auditioned” for the role of kicker.)

And, hands down, the best scene of the episode was the football team dancing to “Single Ladies.” I loved it and was laughing out loud! So great!!

I don’t think the theme was necessarily about being gay, but standing up for who you are, and not being ashamed of it. Growing up as one of the very few Mormons in a very small town, I could completely relate to a lot of this. Gay or not, I’m just glad they have a character like Kurt on there that will pull out that Beyonce attitude if he feels like it.
Now on to the pregnancy- I actually know a girl that faked a pregnancy for over 7 months! Even to her husband- it’s too long a story to share in comments. Butthat part is not so far fetched to me. The fact that Finn wouldn’t automatically think that Quinn had cheated on him- is.

I completely forgot to mention how excited I am Kristin Chenoweth will be guest starring next week!!!!!!

The scene between Kurt and his dad made the whole show. They should show that to every parent so they know how to react when there kid tells them they’re doing something contrary to the parents ideals. Awesome.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the dance! I couldn’t stop laughing. And the final scene was just perfect.
