The Amazing Race 15: I’m like Ricky Bobby (Dubai)
Watching them search for the water urns in those desert sand dunes made my mouth water. I couldn’t believe how tough and determined Brian was out there. Brian and Erika have been growing on me a little bit the past few weeks, and tonight made me like them even more. Brian’s karma theory and approach to helping other teams gave me warm fuzzies. Really. I liked watching those two have so much fun on the indoor ski slope, too. They are such a pleasant contrast to Lance and Keri, who are clearly not team players and tonight paid the price for being that way. I’m so happy I don’t have to watch them fight with each other next week, and I thought it was perfect that he screwed up more than she did tonight. He’s been yelling at her since the first episode as if she’s the one making all the mistakes when in fact he’s the bigger idiot making the “awful decisions.” Good riddance.
Poor Mika with the world’s tallest building. I felt so bad for her and how scared she was that she’d have to jump off of it. Next week looks like another tough challenge for her, however, with Canaan trying to push her down a water slide. Yikes.
I did find it interesting that the two teams who were making an effort to help other teams, the Globetrotters and Brian/Erika, were the only two to find that ridiculously small snowman in those huge mounds of snow. Maybe Brian’s onto something with karma. Why did they all choose that challenge, though? It sounded so much harder than building a snowman, I couldn’t believe so many teams chose it. As for Meghan and Cheyne, they scored with the racetrack fast-forward and ended up being the first team to the pit stop. That said, I thought Meghan’s tears were a little ridiculous, even is she does have control issues. Come on, it’s not the Indie 500 or something.
I’m still sad that Zev and Justin are gone. I would much rather be watching them race than the poker players who should have gone home last week. Maria drives me crazy with all her mistakes and complaints. Driving right on top of that spike tonight was par for the course with all the dumb stuff she has done.
Anyway, my favorites right now are the father and son team, Gary and Matt, and then probably Brian and Erika or the Globetrotters.
Amazing Race is on Sundays at 8pm on CBS.
