The Amazing Race 15: This is Not My Finest Hour

ar_1507_recapWhat an emotional episode.  My gosh.  I never would have guessed half way through that it would have ended the way it did.  I wanted to cry when it was all over.

I just about died when one of the Globetrotters said if we know anyone in the race it’s Brian because they always hear Ericka yell his name.  And then all through the show I heard her yelling at him.  ”Your feet hurt, well they couldn’t hurt as bad as mine.  I have no sympathy for you.”  All paraphrasing of course but that was the gist of it.  I was so surprised when she finally got the number of bells.  Her first guess was so off I didn’t think she would ever get it.  But she did.

I know I’m probably the only one but I love the poker players.  Their relationship is so heart warming.  I love that they call each other pet names and give each other tons of encouragement and are just such good friends.  I love how hard they tried at the challenges and am heartbroken that they quit and were eliminated.  I knew they weren’t going to win but I wanted to see more of them.  I am so sad.

I’m routing for the Globetrotters.  They are my favorite team now by a long shot.  I really don’t think they have what it takes to win but winning doesn’t matter when I pick my favs.  I just want fun and I think they bring loads of it.  Their dancing was killer and they are another team with a great supportive relationship.

I also like father/son team Gary and Matt.  Those two just seem to be having a ton of fun.  Love it.

You know who I don’t like?  I don’t like Meghan and Cheyne mostly because of the spelling of his name.  Ridiculous, I know but we’re talking about reality TV here.  I’m allowed to make up my own rules.

So, who’s your favorite team right now?

The Amazing Race 15 is on Sundays at 8pm on CBS.

I’m completely with you on your two favorite teams, the only difference being I’d flip them. I actually think Gary and Matt are now my favorites and the Globetrotters are my 2nd choice.

Amen about the spelling of Cheyne’s name. Sometimes I’m not so sure about that kid… like the way he does his hair, and what was with the yellow scarf he had tied around his neck last night? Weird.

I was SHOCKED that Brian and Ericka didn’t get eliminated, and as annoying as she was last night (hello, diva) I would have been okay with that. I really like Brian, but Ericka… yikes. I thought for sure they were goners with the bell fiasco and then for sure for sure when they missed the bikes. How did they miss those?!

Oh, I was so sad for the poker girls. I wish they had just stuck with the dancing challenge, and gave it their all to hit the bell. I’m sure I don’t know what it’s like- because every other team had a guy pulling most of the weight for either challenge. I really thought they could have done it if they rested, and kept trying. But, more so than anything, I was sad that it wasn’t Brian and Ericka who went home. I can’t stand them. (And sorry to give anything away, but usually when 5 teams are left, it’s a non-elimination round… so I think they’ll stay for a couple more weeks.) I’m undecided about Sam and Dan- sometimes I like them, sometimes they bug. But I do like other teams. Gary/Matt, Globetrotters, and Meghan and *Shane. Agreed on the name, although I still like them and who be happy if they won.

Globetrotters win the entertainment spot of the week. Their outfits and dancing were absolutely hilarious. Even my husband (who doesn’t watch the show) stood and watched them with me. And I loved how funny Phil was. “Flight Time and Big Easy… you look ridiculous!”
