The Biggest Loser 9: Week 1

Picture 1I’m glad this show is having so much success but I’m a little thrown off by the back to back seasons.  That being said I still enjoy watching the show so it’s not that big a deal.

The show started off with hometown weigh ins which I would imagine would be horrifying.  I didn’t think so at first because their initial weigh ins even at the ranch will be televised and millions of people will watch but I talked to my husband about it and he convinced me that a live audience of your peers would be super intimidating.  At least at the ranch you only see twenty or so people who are all in the same situation that you are.

The first two couples voted off and then given a second chance in a month was no surprise.  Of course they’re not just going to ship off two couples the first day.  It’s hard though when people go home and then come back because I have no attachment to them and therefore don’t really care if they stay or not.

So the half ton twins got split up.  Well, unfortunately that’s all I have to say about that because I’m not attached to anyone yet.  I think it will be a great season and we’ll see some incredible weight loss.

Did you pick any favorites last night?

The Biggest Loser is on Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.

I didn’t get to watch much last night because my husband HATES the show, but I caught the highlights. I don’t have any favorites, but I just have to say that I nearly peed my pants laughing when Jillian made “the mom” yell and scream. (I’m 8 mos pregnant so peeing my pants isn’t too big of a deal, unfortunately.) But I was seriously laughing so hard on the couch I had trouble breathing. I love Jillian!

I thought the whole sending-two-teams-home-early thing was so stupid, I hate how they have to try and make every season a little different. If it’s not broken, don’t try and fix it! I’m really excited for this season because they keep getting bigger and bigger people on, for more dramatic weight loss results. I was really glad for the one half ton twin for losing so much weight at home! It was unbelievable how well he’s doing- he just needed a kick in the butt I guess.

Yeah, it’s just too early to pick favorites. Definitely proud of the at-home twin, though. I don’t think his brother will last long- they seemed to have more of a physical “disability” than the others. One walked with a limp, and I noticed Bob made them do the ellyptical machine instead of the treadmill. Who knows…

Ironically enough, my husband usually hates this show, but because they were all so big, he actually sat down with me to see how much weight they all lost.

(WW- when are you due? I’m due Feb 1!)
