We’re four girls from California who write about our favorite books, TV shows, movies, etc. Consider us your personal water cooler.

**SPOILER ALERT**  We talk in depth about all of our shows so be warned.

RedBox

redbox1Now, we’re not a news site but since we are all really invested in movies I thought I’d pass this along as an interesting bit of information.  Redbox are those big red boxes (how ironic) that you can find at your grocery store that rent DVD new releases for cheap.  Well it turns out some people in the film industry aren’t happy with Redbox and say they are hurting their bottom line.

Universal apparently told their distributors to stop selling their new releases to Redbox within 45 days of a title’s release.  So you can still get the movie but you have to wait 45 days.  There is a lawsuit going on between Universal and Red Box to determine what is going to happen.  Now Fox has gotten in on the “hold the new release” ticket so more may follow.

I don’t even use Redbox, I’m a Netflix kind of girl, but this makes me mad.  How about you?  Will you wait the 45 days or will you go through another vender or will some of you download illegally just to stick it to the man?

I’m not a reporter so this is just a taste of what’s going on.  If you want to read the article on /film (pronounced slashfilm) go here.

Do you love a good party?

http://www.hostessblog.com

This web site is completely addictive- you’ll be looking to throw a party for no other reason then throwing a party.  I found myself filling a bookmark folder with ideas.  So thank you Kimi!  and here’s the link, you’ve been warned (if you’re a Twilight nut like rest of us- make sure to check out her Twilight themed party).

Blog Stalkin’

I had some time on my hands today (believe it or not, I’m actually on top of everything Christmas wise and can actually enjoy the holiday) so I decided to do a little blog stalkin’ and ran across this video on http://h20cooler.blogspot.com/
I thought it was hilarious, so I thought I’d post it here.
enjoy!

Story people

I’m a huge fan of Brian Andreas, creator of story people.  If you haven’t heard of him, check out his stuff here.  I’ve been collecting his works over the years and occasionally he’ll turn his illustrations into mini videos.  This is my favorite Christmas one, it’s ok if you don’t get it- but I thought I’d share.

I think we could all use a good laugh

and so I present a link to “The Darwin Awards”

’cause there’s always someone dumber then you out there.

Bet ya’ didn’t know we could move like that? This is from a really fun web site I had stored in my bookmarks and stumbled across again. Now either my computer was super slow last time, or the web site wasn’t all that great when it was first up and running. I don’t remember it being this quick, or fun, to put these videos together. The only issue I have with the site is there’s only a few really cool ecards- you have to be a member and pay for most of the other ones. As you can see above though, they still have some really fun free ones. I had a great time putting my sister and her fiance in High School Musical three, and making my husband lobby for Obama.
