So You Think You Can Dance 6: Top 8 Results

Screen shot 2009-12-10 at 4.14.00 PMWell, I guess after watching The Biggest Loser Finale, and then watching Glee’s finale, I knew I couldn’t have it all go my way. And the results last night were pretty much the opposite of what I would have liked to have happen. Granted, my ultimate favorites made the finale. However, looking back, I really think it should have been Ashleigh who went home. I know it’s not fair that she go home just because she didn’t dance. BUT, it’s not fair that she gets to slide right through, and 2 of the people who had the BEST routines of the season went home.

Yes, I realize that’s my opinion. But did you see how absolutely shocked Adam was to see Mollee go home? I agree with everything he said… she peaked last night, but apparently it was just too late. And I don’t think I have ever, in the history of So You Think You Can Dance, seen anyone cry as hard as Mollee did last night. It was heart-breaking to see her sobbing. I know she’s never been one of my favorites. (I think she initially came off as too young and immature.) But I probably would have chosen her over Ashleigh and Kathryn. Even though she’s young and bubbly, I think she has more personality than Kathryn.

And Legacy wasn’t the best dancer ever… but if you compared his and Ryan’s solo- really?! Come on. Legacy is amazing to watch. I think Ryan was the only one to do the exact same solo as the night before. Everyone else had something new. Lame.

Well, I hope the finale makes up for my disappointment this week. How about you? Are any of your favorites left?

Glee: Sectionals

Screen shot 2009-12-10 at 4.00.43 PMYay! THIS is the episode I have been waiting for all season… when everything hits the fan! I mean, tension can be enjoyable, because it keeps you wanting more. But, I have been waiting for Finn to find out about Quinn and Puck, for Will to find out about his wife, (yes- last week…) and for Will and Emma to kiss! Yay! And on top of that, the ending Kelly Clarkson remake was one of my favorites! (Especially with the montage of all of their songs/routines they did…)

This will be the shortest post ever… but that’s really all I have to say. I loved the episode. And I’m really sad that we have to wait for the Spring for it to air again. (I’m sure because of American Idol…) Ellen Degeneres had better make American Idol worth watching in place of Glee. :)

So, did you like it as much as I did? We’ll keep you posted in the Spring about air times/days.

So You Think You Can Dance 6: Top 8 Perform

Screen shot 2009-12-09 at 6.47.33 PMFinally!! A night full of routines that I LOVED. And I didn’t just love them. Two of the routines were, hands-down!, my favorite routines of the season… even make my top 5 favorites of all time. Those routines were the Viennese waltz, performed by Jakob and Mollee, and the contemporary “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” routine performed by Legacy and Ellenore. I thought both were absolutely fabulous! I really don’t have much else to say. I just loved them! It finally made watching the show fun again! (I’ve been so bored lately).

And all the rest of the routines were all very good as well! With the exception of one… Tab and Napoleon’s. :( It truly was heart-breaking for me to watch a routine by them that I just didn’t like. They usually have a great story, and the movement and music is so complementary I have yet to dislike a routine by them. (Until now). Not only was it a little strange, but it just didn’t have anything impressive about it. The dancing didn’t even seem like dancing. I am really hoping that people voted for Legacy and Ellenore based off their first performance. Because, to me, to get a second routine like they got, it had nothing to do with them, and was all about the choreography. Sad.

Lastly, I want to mention that it will be quite interesting to have a finale with 6 dancers instead of 4. In fact, I don’t really like it. I think “America’s favorite” dancer won’t be as accurate, because the votes will be split between 6 people, instead of 4. And someone might have a strong feeling about 2 of the dancers, which would be greatly affected if one wasn’t in the finale.

And what do you think about Ashleigh not dancing? I just don’t know if her fan-base is big enough to withstand not performing the week before a finale. Especially when all the numbers were fabulous! If I had to choose, I’d say right now, my favorite girl is Ellenore, and my favorite guy is Jakob. But, I can’t deny that I just LOVE Russell. And I thought he did especially well last night. Seriously- both his hip hop and Bollywood were awesome!

If you see this before the results tonight, let me know who you’re rooting for. Does Ashleigh deserve a spot in the finale? If I could pick, I’d send Ryan home tonight. We’ll see…

The Biggest Loser 8: Finale

Picture 3This is another one of those shows that I didn’t really care who won as long as it wasn’t a certain person.  That person is Rudy.  He just really rubbed me the wrong way.  So Amanda or Danny, it didn’t matter to me.  But we’ll get to that in a little bit.

Let’s talk about the at home winner for a sec.  Wow.  Rebecca looked awesome.  Except for her hair.  Why did she choose that ugly blonde instead of platinum?  Big mistake as far as I’m concerned but she looked amazing.  I’m so glad she won.

Then we have a proposal.  I didn’t even know they were dating but I guess it’s pretty serious if they’re getting married.  I loved her reaction.  She was so happy and surprised and I just loved watching it.

Then Shay gets $1000 for every pound she loses.  If that’s not motivation I don’t know what is.  I bet her husband kicks her out of bed in the morning from now on so she can get a workout before work.  She has the possibility of winning a freaking ton of money and getting healthy to boot.  Incredible.

OK, now for the big winner.  Danny looked like a different person altogether.  Can you believe how young he looked.  The finale is always so rewarding as a viewer because last week everyone was still pretty heavy.

So, did the best man win?

Well we don’t have long to wait for the next season.  It airs January 5th at 8pm on NBC.

The Big Bang Theory: The Gorilla Experiment

big_bang_theory_gorilla_experiment_1Well leave it to Sheldon to think of teaching Penny as training a gorilla to do sign language.  Only the gorilla could learn way more than Penny possibly could.  ”It’s a warm summer evening…”

I thought for sure Wolowitz had lost Bernadette when he tried to get Leonard to uninvite her to his experiment.  And for that matter when his mom came home and they were making out on the bed.  Why would you want to get involved with that?  But she seemed to roll with the punches.  ”Tooshie face.”  I’m just happy Bernadette will be around for another week.  She’s super cute.

I loved the beginning sequence with the food and Sheldon freaking out about every little thing.  It’s so funny to watch him get riled up.  I mean who doesn’t like eating family style?

Still a super funny show.  Are you enjoying the addition of Bernadette?

The Amazing Race 15: Finale: How Sweet the Sound!

12I could not be more happy with the way Sunday’s finale turned out.  I know last week I was rooting for Ericka and Brian but woah did I do a quick turn around at the Cirque de Soliel challenge.  What is wrong with Ericka?  She completely lost it and lost it big time.  I was hoping they never finished the challenge and Phil would have to come find them there hours after the finale and tell them it was over.  They were an annoying couple from the get go but I like underdogs so I was on their side last week but that is over.  Allegiances switched.

When Meghan and Cheyne went to the wrong hotel I was freaking out.  I needed them to win.  They just had to.  The brothers couldn’t win.  It would have killed me.  Thank goodness they got turned back around and in the end won.  I totally agree that they were the best team throughout the race so they deserve to win.  I still don’t like them but they beat out the brothers so they’re good in my book.

Can we talk for just a second about scaling that building face down?  That is one of the only challenges that I honestly don’t think I could have done.  Backwards, yes but face down?  Yikes.

Well, another season is over and it was a thrilling ride.  I still miss the Globtrotters and the Poker Players and Zev and Justin.  I can’t wait until next season.

I’m pretty sure this ended the way all you wanted it to but just in case, are you happy with the results?

Eastwick: Tasers and Mind Erasers

18c152390253c4796d16c49f0f92f2ceWhat an emotional episode.  From Kat trying and failing to use her powers to finally figuring them out in the end.  Wow.  When Mia slipped under the water I thought to myself, they wouldn’t do this to Roxie would they?  The makeup was so real and she just flew under the ice.  I get creeped out just thinking about it.

I loved the scene in the bar where they finally reveal their powers and admit to being witches.  I also love that Kat has some serious reservations about it.  This is a big deal what these girls can do.

I still can’t believe this show is being cancelled when there are episodes like this that are just amazing.  And I haven’t even talked about Jamie and the older witches.  How are they going to get Roxie to kill Darryl?  And is it because she refuses that Jamie tries to kill her?  I don’t know but I wish we could find out.  I guess I’ll take whatever they’ll give me at this point.

Eastwick is on Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.

Scrubs: Our First Day of School and Our Drunk Friend

bbbdf13b93ef7f96b254e63c9fd8a3d9

You guys know I love Scrubs.  I watch the original series over and over and over again in reruns and I love it just as much today as I did when I first watched it.  So what the crap was that garbage that was on last night?   Remember a while back when Season 9 came out I complained because they were focused too much on the interns and I was afraid the show was going to be about them?  It’s happened.  The show is about med students now.  Great.

My first beef is with the girl Lucy who is the new JD.  Hate her.  I don’t like one thing about her.  I don’t care that Dr. Cox hates her and I really wish she would drop out of med school.  Watch, she’s going to grow on me and I’ll being saying how much I lover her squeaky voice and inability to talk in front of people.  Who knows.

I don’t know where to go from here.  I can’t believe I actually sat through an hour of this garbage.  Am I going to watch it next week?  Probably.  I just love Scrubs so much and I want to believe the show will get better but I’m not holding my breath.

What do you think?  Am I being too hard on the show?

Scrubs is on Tuesdays at 9pm on ABC.

The Biggest Loser 8: Week 12

Picture 2I was pretty bored with the first little bit of the show but was really touched when Bob and Jillian went and visited everyone at home.  I really felt for the contestants and their struggles.  I guess it never impacted me before how difficult it would be to go from The Ranch and try to fit back in at home when they’ve been plugging along and probably struggling without you.  Not to mention changing their eating and work out habits.  Man, I really got it this time around.

Can you believe Danny’s and Rudy’s at home weight loss?  After the girls got up I wasn’t expecting much but Danny blew me away.  I know they still have a ways to go until the finale but I think Danny’s got it.

So did you vote?  If I had voted I would have voted for Amanda.  Just because she got voted on to the show and it would be great to see her finish all the way to the end.  Plus I think I like her better.  She’s a little whiny for me but in general I like her.

So, who’s going to be the biggest loser?

Sorry I didn’t mention last week that last night’s show was on at 9pm.  I didn’t know but next weeks finale is on at 8pm on NBC.

The Amazing Race 15: It Starts With an F. That’s All I’m Saying.

harlem-globetrotters-240Suck.  Suck. Suck.  Suck.  I hate the brothers now.  It was just mild to moderate contempt before but I HATE  them now.  I cannot believe Dan just left Big Easy like that.  What a total (I’m going to say something a lot nicer than I’m thinking here) jerk wad.  I don’t really care who wins now as long as it’s not them.  The funny thing is I’m usually all for sneaky teams but those two are just jerks.

Oh, Big Easy.  Who doesn’t know of someone named Franz?  I’m not good with word jumblers either so I’m not too terribly mad at him but a 4 hour penalty?  How could they possibly think that was a strategic move?  They were in last place and tacked 4 hours onto themselves.  My only hope was that the Rabbi would see the broken arm of the gollum and send the brothers back to the beginning.  But alas, that did not happen.

Who do you guys want to win?  I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but I’m kind of pulling for Brian and Ericka.  Probably just because they are the underdogs.  I don’t like a single team left so as long as the brothers don’t win I’m fine.

So who are you routing for now?

The Amazing Race is on Sundays at 8pm on CBS.

The Biggest Loser 8: Week 11

Picture 2What is Suze Orman doing on a weight loss show?  I don’t know but I skipped her anyways so it doesn’t matter to me.  And yes the challenge with Suze was more difficult because they were on the treadmills but that was so boring.  They hyped it to be exciting and challenging and it wasn’t.

The whole show was boring to me.  Granted I thought it was kind of nice to reminisce and see how much more weight they can throw around now than when they began but I guess I just don’t care about this group of people enough to really care. I think that’s it.  I’m not connected to any of them at all.

The only one I was a little attached to was Allen and he’s gone now.  I guess I’m left routing for Amanda now though she’s never been high on my list.  Who are you routing for?

The Biggest Loser is on Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon the Movie

new-moonWell, I will say that I’m not as into the Twilight Series as I used to be.  I know.  Major shocker.  I’m not saying that I don’t still love it and cherish all of my Twilight related memories, I’m just not gaga over it right now.  That’s not to say I can’t be again in the future.  I’m telling you this so you understand my perspective coming into the movie this time.

Even being so neutral about it I loved it.  Did I think it was the best movie of the year, no.  Not by a long shot.  But did it tell my story in a way that was both visually and emotionally pleasing?  Absolutely.  New Moon is my favorite out of all of the books and while I didn’t feel as much hurt and pain at Edward going away as I wanted to I still felt a lot of it.

I loved that we heard Bella’s voice more this time in her letters to Alice.  I didn’t feel like we got that in Twilight the movie and I really  missed it.

I didn’t like my first view of the werewolves when Sam was coming out of the forest.  It just looked stupid to me but every other scene with the werewolves was fantastic.

And the Volturri were great too though not as beautiful as I imagined them.  But how could they possibly be that beautiful?  The makeup only detracts from their beauty.  I know they need to be pale but I wish they let up on that detail a little bit.

All in all, I love this new movie and I will probably even see it again.  Was this the New Moon you imagined?

New Moon is in theaters now.

The Big Bang Theory: The Vengeance Formulation

big_bang_theory_vengeance_formulation_recapOh the humanity!  We got a little too personal with Wolowitz last night.  The scene with Cara from Battlestar Gallactica (love that show and love Cara) was hilarious and revolting at the same time.  Especially with Howard’s mother screaming at him from the background.  Oh gross.  Major bad shivers.  I mean really, he’s got a girl that wants to actually spend some time with him and he’s just going to blow her off?

Which brings us to the proposal.  What was he thinking?  Who proposes to someone after 3 dates?  Well, I can actually think of a couple but I mean normally, who does that?  But, to save the whole show Howard comes up with an apology song.  Amazing.  I forget there’s a talented actor underneath the Howard facade.  Awesome.  It might be nice to see Howard with a girlfriend and maybe, possibly not so creepy.

Sheldon.  Sheldon, Sheldon, Sheldon.  What kind of trouble has he gotten himself into?  And to bring Raj and Leondard down with him.  Oh man.  Can you imagine all the thousands of dollars of equipment he ruined with that stunt.  And then to leave a video message at the end.  Classic.

I can’t wait to get to know this new girl.  Hopefully Howard can make it last for more than one episode.  Do you think he can?

The Big Bang Theory is on Mondays at 9:30pm on CBS.

Legend of the Seeker: Broken

se2_29What an emotional episode.  Normally I’m pretty detached watching Seeker but not this week.  Wow.  I mean you hear about the Mord’Siths.  Things that happen during their training but to see it is painful.  Now I love Cara.  I loved her before this episode but I for sure love her now.

You know what’s funny?  I love her more than I love Kahlan.  I like Kahlan and I’m glad her and Richard have found true love but she doesn’t speak to me.  Maybe she’s too good for my taste.  I’m just really glad that Kahlan spared Cara’s life and invited her to rejoin their quest.  So in that sense I’m glad she’s super good.

I’m excited to get back to the quest next week and can’t wait until they can dump the dope they’re carrying around with them.

Anyone else find themselves sucked in this week?

Legend of the Seeker is on Saturdays at 2pm on WGN.  It’s also on several other channels at different times so check your guides.

Smallville: Pandora

SMALLVILLEI’m sick so I had to watch this twice because I honest to goodness didn’t remember a single thing that happened during the show.  I’m glad I did because this was a biggie.

So Lois goes to the future and find the towers built and a red sun.  Zod and his minions rule over the humans and it’s not looking so great.

Did you have any idea Tess was such an environmentalist?  I must have totally missed it when they explained that to us before because she sold out the human race to save the Earth.  That’s hard core.  I think when she saw she was going to die she still hadn’t changed her mind.  Maybe I’m wrong but my guess is she’ll still try to find a way to side with Zod.  Just because she’s Tess.

And can I get and Amen?  I finally get my Lois and Clark.  Taking it slow.  Well that’s TV slow, right?  They’ll be hooking up by next week.  When they held hands in the elevator I just about died with happiness.  Yay, Lois and Clark!

But what was up with Zod at the end?   Why did he make everyone kneel down before Clark?  What’s his angle?  Is he feigning respect when all he wants to do is kill him?  He was pissed off at Jor-El why would he feel differently about his son when Zod’s own son died?  I think it’s an act.  I know it’s Clark and he can do anything but I just can’t imagine him convincing Zod to live an ordinary life.

Am I being too cynical?

Smallville is on Fridays at 8pm on The CW.

The Amazing Race 15: We’re Not Working With Anybody, Ever, Anymore!

6What a great sneaky episode.  I loved the kayak course.  Why did I love it?  Because the brothers sucked at it.  I loved watching them tip over time and time again.  If only Brian and Ericka hadn’t been so behind they could have left the in the dust.  Oh I can’t stand Sam and Dan.  And then to take Brian and Ericka’s taxi was cold hearted.  I have to be honest, if someone would have taken the brothers taxi I probably wouldn’t be bothered but the fact that they did it pissed me off.

So first Ericka and Brian get bad advice from someone on the plane and end up wicked late to the challenge, then Sam and Dan take their taxi.  Sucks to be them for sure.

I don’t think I’m mad at Cheyne for jumping in the taxi when he had the chance.  I think he definitely could have smoothed things over a little more nicely with the Globetrotters but it’s a race for a million bucks.  I don’t like to see my Globetrotters left behind but I don’t think it was foul play at all.

I loved how much fun Flight Time had at the theater.  The Globetrotters just make everything fun.  I’m so glad they are in this race to even out all the stick up the butt contestants that are left.  Even after “having to” (I guess they could have called a taxi at some point) take the train and the subway they still ended up third.  This doesn’t give me much hope for them to win but they had better make the final three.  I might actually cry if they don’t.

Especially since Brian and Ericka keep slipping in every week.  I guess they really do have angels looking out for them.  Hopefully those angels don’t actually want them to win though because I would die if they pushed out Big Easy and Flight Time.

So what do we think for next week?  Brian and Ericka going home for sure?

The Amazing Race is on Sundays at 8pm on CBS.

The Vampire Diaries: The Turning Point

THE VAMPIRE DIARIESAs I was watching the show I thought the title referred to Stefan’s turning point not to leave but oh boy I didn’t expect it to be Elena finding Katherine’s picture.  I mean, we all knew she was going to find out eventually, right?  It was inevitable.  I’m just glad I didn’t pay attention to last weeks preview, if they showed it, because it was a great twist for me.  And she left the necklace behind.  Bye, bye Stefan.

Well, she’ll be back around sooner or later but the question is did the vampire at the end single her out or was it just bad luck she was driving down the road?  She’s not wearing the necklace anymore so will he get her to do evil things for him?  Obviously he’s not going to kill her but what exactly is the plan here?  Will he use her to bring back Katherine and the other 28 vampires?  I’m assuming this is Logan’s sire.

Speaking of Logan how did Alaric know he was a vampire? Could he smell him?  Stefan and Damon knew he was “dead” and now he’s “alive” so it didn’t take too much to figure that out but I’m super curious about the teacher.  I sure hope they tell us and don’t just leave us guessing on this one.  I don’t remember him ever being in the room with Stefan or Damon so maybe he doesn’t know they are vampires yet.  I still don’t quite understand what his role is in the show yet but I’m enjoying him being around.

Now to the exciting stuff.  Do you think Travis is a werewolf?  This is where reading the books would have come in handy.  It’s just they had that scene where he said he didn’t know what was wrong with him and the full moon was behind him.  Am I reading too much into this.  I don’t know.  Totally aggressive guy and full moon.  Spells werewolf to me.

I’m glad things got shaken up a bit.  How long do you think it will take Elena to forgive Stefan?  However long it takes for him to save her, right?

The Vampire Diaries are on Thursday nights at 8pm on The CW.

Survivor Samoa: Day of Reckoning

Screen shot 2009-11-20 at 10.53.29 AMOkay, I do not usually flip like this, but the last 3 episodes have been some of the greatest in Survivor history. (They even rival the very best episode ever, when Randy was blindsided.) Russell drove me crazy for the first few weeks, and now, every time he finds an idol, it is the most entertaining thing ever, and I can’t help but root for him! My favorite quote of the night came from Russell, who said regarding the blindside of Kelly, “That was almost as great as my kids being born.”

So, I really don’t have much to say about the challenge, except that I’m SO glad Russell was on the winning team. (And I can’t believe Natalie didn’t fall out!) He may have found the 3rd immunity idol without the clue, but it would have been pretty tough. Instead, wasn’t it fabulous watching Dave follow him, and then Russell breaking out into to sprint to lose him?! I couldn’t believe it when he went back to the same spot and actually found the idol! Seriously, you can’t deny that the guy is good! I was literally laughing out loud.

After that, the immunity challenge was a little anticlimactic. But, all that mattered was that Laura didn’t win, so I was happy with it.

Now, the last 15-20 minutes of the show were the best. Well, really the last 5 minutes. But I just love it when there are so many deals trying to be made, when people make fake deals, the scrambling to scam others… THAT is why I watch this show. I love that Russell didn’t fall for Monica’s plan. He knew exactly what she was doing. And, the outcome was awesome! That was one of the best endings I’ve seen in a while. The whole tie-breaking vote system was interesting. If it came down to a tie twice in a row, any single one of them could have gone home. So, it was so perfect that John was rubbed the wrong way just enough to realize that! If I were him, I would have done the exact same thing. You either vote out one of your teammates, or you risk having a 1/8 chance of going home yourself. So, that was seriously the best ending anyone could have asked for! I cannot wait to see what happens next. I wonder if Russell will be a little more hesitant about sharing that he has the idol this time. We’ll see…

Because next week is Thanksgiving, Survivor will be a recap of everything. A new episode will resume the following Thursday, at 8pm PST, on CBS.

The Office: Shareholders Meeting

I just loved everyone’s reactions to Michael being picked up by a limo. And even more so than that, Michael first stating that town cars are better, but completely saying the opposite when he realized it really was a limo for him. I sometimes forget that The Office is set in a small town. They were all like 5-year-olds, running out to catch the ice cream truck. It was pretty amusing. And I loved Erin’s line: “It’s like what high school kids take to prom on t.v. shows.” (I went to prom in a limo…)

Oh, and poor Michael. Totally had no clue that people were there because they were mad… However, I was thoroughly entertained by Dwight’s line-choosing. It’s like traffic. Whichever lane you’re not in is always moving faster. And as soon as you move to that lane, the one you left will start moving quickly. Maybe it was especially funny because it was happening to Dwight.

I’m really curious as to how Dunder Mifflin will stay afloat. Maybe I’m an optimist, but the show wouldn’t go on if they went out of business and everyone lost their jobs. (I suppose it could be a season-ender.) But at this point, I have little concern.

Overall, not the funniest episode ever- but I LOVE this deleted scene and wish they had kept it in the episode! Enjoy!

The Office airs Thursdays at 9pm PST, on NBC.

Glee: Ballad

Screen shot 2009-11-19 at 2.08.37 PMI have to say, I really enjoyed this episode… more so than many of them in the past. The school-girl crush was absolutely hilarious- both Suzie Pepper (was that her name?) and Rachel. Of course high schoolers have crushes on the young, good-looking teachers. I still remember the one young male teacher when I was a Senior, and all the girls had a crush on him. (However, he was also married, and no one was dumb enough to actually flirt with him!) And no one would be so clueless to not get his awesome mash-up ballad: “Young Girl/Don’t Stand So Close to Me.” Loved it!!

I was also so glad that we’re finally getting somewhere with people finding out about Quinn. (However it didn’t take the turn I thought.) Yay for Finn’s mom, and handling it in the absolutely best way possible. Boo for Quinn’s parents. Who does that?! I think we’re seeing this theme come up again and again… kids either make mistakes, or their lives go in a direction their parents wouldn’t want. And parents can choose how to handle it. Despite what your child does, thinks, says, etc. don’t you want them to know that you’ll always love them, no matter what? I hope there are people out there, who might gain a little different perspective from watching this show. Although every aspect might not appeal to everyone, I can definitely see the positive messages they’re trying to convey.

I am really starting to feel bad for Puck. He’s actually trying to be involved, and take ownership, but is being shot down. Even Mercedes told him it was Quinn’s choice and to get over it! (Which I don’t agree with.) I’m seriously waiting for it to come out, for someone to believe Finn about them not having sex, and to explain to him that he can’t possibly be the father.

Overall, a great episode in my mind! Glee airs Wednesday nights, 9pm PST, on Fox.
