SYTYCD8: Top 10 Perform

I literally have 30 seconds to blog before a bunch of 10 years old come over for my son’s party.  I just want to say that last night was amazing.  The best show by far that they have had yet this season.  One dud.  The Broadway number at the beginning.

You know I hate ballroom but I will say right now I will watch and love any number that Pasha is in.  I didn’t watch his season so this is my first time with him and I am blown away.  So sexy.  He makes the girls look so good.  Anyone would look good dancing with him.

I cannot believe how incredible last night was.  I cried.  I was amazed.  I loved Neil Patrick Harris.  He is so hot right now and I love him.  It was fun with him on the show last night.  Can’t wait to see him dancing on How I met Your Mother. That’s seriously one of my favorite shows.

Gotta run but WOW last night was spectacular.  Who do you think is going home tonight?

SYTYCD is on tonight (Thursday) at 7pm on FOX.

MasterChef: Top 11 and then 10 Compete

Top 11:

It’ll be real quick today but can you believe Jennifer?  I honestly didn’t see her downfall coming but I thought it was a totally stupid and arrogant move not to take the free pass.  I wonder if Alejandra’s dish was worse but they put Jennifer in the bottom three to teach her a lesson.  Gotta love reality TV for this exact reason.  On top on minute on the bottom the next.  Love it.

Do you guys feel bad for Aaron?  I really do.  He had a bad day.  Things didn’t go the way he planned and now he’s gone.  He was super brave for standing and taking his apron off himself.    What a crazy episode.

So the question is would you have taken the balcony or stayed to cook?

Top 10:

I had no idea Joe was Lidia Bastianich’s son.  Not even a clue.  How fun.  I love that Ramsey’s mum doesn’t like fish.  A picky eater.  How cute is that?

I have a confession.  Just looking at Eggs Bededict makes me want to vomit.  Every time they cut into an egg and the yolk oozes out it sends chills up my spine.  Not ooh chills but blech chills.  I like my eggs scrambled, please.  With lots of cheese on top.  Pretty much I don’t even want to taste the egg.

Aww, Guiseppe.  He really did seem like the most sincere, gentle, nice guy.  I think I’ll miss him.

I like this show because it’s Summer and nothing else is on but my heart really isn’t into it.  How about you?

MasterChef is on Monday at 8pm MT on FOX.

The Pirates! Band of Misfits

I totally love Wallace and Gromit and really enjoyed The Chicken Run so I cannot wait to see this with my kids.  My husband found the trailer on Slashfilm the other day as well as a opening date of March 30, 2012.  That’s an awfully long time to wait for what looks like a hilarious and super fun movie.  I’m loving it already.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2

So first I want to say that I loved Part 1.  My husband did not.  He thought it was too boring, but for me, that’s how I remember the book.  The first bit was tedious and nothing happened and everyone was frustrated and fighting and them blammo it all starts and then it never stops.  So to me the two movies really held true to how I felt about the book.  Slow to begin with and then action packed until the end.

I know a lot was left out and even more was changed but when I go into these book adaptions now I have a totally open mind.  I know my favorite scenes are going to be different.  That’s just the nature of the beast.  That doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally get mad but then I let it go and enjoy what Hollywood gives me.

Neville is a cute character to me.  He started out a little silly looking, got really awkward in the middle and now he’s grown in to a good looking young man.  It was nice to see him all grown up and tough.

And ewww, what’s with all the kissing?  Just kidding.  I loved it.  I did notice that when Ron and Hermione have their big moment that they don’t actually show it.  Hermione’s hair is covering the whole thing.  I wonder if they were super uncomfortable together?  Maybe Ron is a bad kisser?  Maybe Hermione kept slipping him the tongue and the director didn’t want us to think badly of her?  I don’t know, it just caught me off guard that the kiss wasn’t fully shown.

The special effects were incredible.  I just love what they’ve done with the magic.  With the explosions and the sparks and the crackling noises.  And I love when the Death Eaters fly around.  I know that’s been in other movies too, it’s not a new thing, but I still love it.  I pretty much love all the special effects magic in this movie.

It was so nice to see a young Snape and Lily getting to know each other.  I always was moved by that part in the book and I was so happy to see it up on the big screen.  It was magical.

I loved all of this movie.  I honestly don’t have one complaint.  What I really loved was seeing bits from all of the other movies find their way into this one.  Oh the memories.  Oh the journey first through books and then through movies that I have been on with Harry Potter.  Even the first two movies which are not that strong I look back on fondly.  In fact I love them merely because I can watch them with my kids. (They’re too young to see from 4 on.  Yeah, I’m that kind of mom.)

I think I might be in love with David Yates for the last four movies.  I have loved every single one of them.  You know my favorite though?  Number 3,  Prisoner of Azkaban.  I more identify with the dark, quirky style of Alfonso Cuaron.  That movie was incredible.

This one was incredible also, just not so quirky.  I say, throw all your preconceived notions out the window.  You love the book.  You love the characters.  Just leave it at that and go in your mind and heart wide open and just let the movie wash over you.  You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, you’ll hate Voldemort and Harry will triumph in the end.

btw.  Have I mentioned that I have a crush on Snape?  I just get goosebumps from the way Alan Rickman plays him.  I am seriously in love.  And do you know who I would be if I could choose any character?  Helena Bonham Carter’s, Bellatrice Lestrange.  She could not be more perfect with the snarling and the wicked manner.  Once again, I am in love.  And don’t even get me started on how awesome everything about Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort.  I am in awe of how he plays this character.  I believe it wholeheartedly.  I love all the good guys too but those three just stand out to me.

I want to see it again.  And again and again.  I want to see both Part One and Two back to back but I think I missed my chance.  I’ll have to look into it.  For me this was a perfect ending to a absolutely wonderful journey.  I heart Harry Potter and I even bigger heart J.K. Rowling from bringing him into my life.

I know a lot of you have seen this already.  What did you think?

SYTYCD8: 1 of 12 Voted Off

I really wish this results show was only 1/2 hour.  I loved last weeks performances but that was the first in however many years I’ve been watching the show.  I’m sure there been a few standouts here and there but heck if I remember them.

Super happy Ryan and Alexander went home.  Ryan especially.  I never got into her and for me, it was time she went home.  Alexander…meh.  I’m definitely OK with it being him this week.

Well, your top ten are:  Caitlyn, Clarice, Jordan, Melanie, Sasha (awesome solo tonight), Jess (who is always surprising me), Marko, Mitchell, Ricky and Tadd.

So top ten gets spicy.  New partners and All-Stars:  Melody (Season1), Allison (S2), Pasha (S3), Twitch (S4-My Fav), Comfort (S4), Chelsie Hightower (S4), Brandon (S5), Kathryn (S6) and Robert (S7).

So excited for the choreographers and Cat.  8 Emmy nominations.  Choreographers (which all happen to be my favorites):  Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels (my all time favorite), Stacey Tookey, Travis Wall, and Tabitha and Napolean.  I loved that little montage they showed.  I remember all but Mandy Moore’s routine and I LOVED all of them.

And holy smokes that opening number was to die for.  El Fuego indeed.  Muy caliente.  Me like, me like.

And I loved the judging panel this week (Jesse Tyler Ferguson-Modern Family and Sonya Tayeh).  I think it was my absolute favorite so far.  Although Kristin Chenoweth was pretty darn cute.

So, the big question is…are you happy with who went home?

SYTYCD is on Wednesday at 7pm MT on FOX.

SYTYCD8: Top 12 Perform

Well, I’m embarrassed.  I thought the redheaded ballroom choreographer was with another man.  It turns out Melanie Lapatin is not with Jean Marc she is with Tony Meredith.  You guys.  I’ve been watching this show for years and never put those two together in my mind.  How ridiculous is that?  Now you know I pretty much ignore ballroom but this is just plain silly.  Second week in a row I’ve been embarrassed.  Maybe this week I’ll get my act together?!

OMG.  That Travis Wall routine with Jordan and Tadd was off the hook.  I love dark pieces and this one was dark for sure.  The wardrobe for Jordan was freaking amazing.  The way it shook when she wiggled her wrists was genius.  And then the lone wanderer killed the vulture at the end.  I was not expecting that turn but I loved it.  It was so hard hitting and wonderful.

When I saw Jess was doing a hip hop routine I was very skeptical.  He and Clarise did an awesome job though.  Super cute routine.

This season I am totally in love with Tyce Diorio.  I love all of his routines.  Alexander’s best for sure.  And I have never been a huge fan of Sasha’s.  If you remember I didn’t think she was going to make it to the top 20 but in this routine I can definitely see how she made it this far.

OK, so maybe I’m in love with Travis Wall too.  That Janis Joplin routine was so hot and sexy and dirty.  I’m not sure how I feel about all the tweens watching but I loved it.

The moth routine!  Oh wow.  Melanie and Marco sent their team out with a bang.  Dee Caspary did a fantastic job.  I wish the show would have ended with them (because you know I don’t like ballroom).

I’m with the judges.  Except for Melanie and Marco I’m excited to see everyone split up next week.  Bring some new blood to the stage.  Exciting night!  Can’t wait to see who goes home tonight.  Who do you think it will be?

SYTYCD is on Wednesday at 7pm MT on FOX.

MasterChef: Top 12 Compete

“@#$% it!  Stupid @#$%ing cake!  @#$%!” Christine Corley.  It’s like she’s been in my kitchen every time I’ve tried to make a birthday cake for one of my family members.  I have the decency to keep the profanity in my head to spare my children some nasty new words to use on the playground, or heaven forbid, in church.  That is however, exactly what is going on in my head.  I have even thrown stuff around the kitchen.  Now, it’s been decided that we let the local bakery bake our custom birthday cakes for us from now on.  So what I’m saying is, I feel for the contestants that did poorly this time because I know firsthand how hard baking a fancy cake is.

Can you believe the beef tartar lost by 100%?  How bad must that have been?  I mean not even one person voted for them.  Not a single snooty L.A. Z list celeb voted for them.  I did see Carson Kressley in the group but he was the only one I recognized.

How amazing was that moment with Ben when he broke down in front of Ramsey?  At first I was scared because they were so skeptical of his cake but when Ramsey loved it I almost started crying along with Ben.  How amazing to put your heart and soul into something and have it turn out to be amazing.  I am so happy to have been able to see that.

I hated the bottom three because those girls are each great characters in their own way.  Esther has no self confidence and it’s written all over her face so I love to watch her squirm and be totally uncomfortable.  So sorry she’s gone.  Then Christine is awesome because she loses it all the time which is thoroughly entertaining.  And then Suzy is so egotistical you can’t help but laugh at everything she says.  I think last night she really got a wake up call.  She looked freaked out.

Judge Joe Bastianich is my favorite.  He looks the contestants straight in the eye with a death stare as he tastes their food.  I mean puts the fork in his mouth while staring them down.  Awesome.  I had never heard of him before but he is a super scary judge.

I think it’s time I picked a favorite and it’s got to be Ben.  What a cute guy and he seems to be a great chef.  Do you have a favorite yet?

MasterChef is on Monday at 8pm MT on FOX.

The Pick, the Pawn and the Polish

Three of my favorite TV shows are teaming up tonight!!!  That’s right History Channel’s American Pickers, American Restoration and Pawn Stars. I mean, for Summer programming does it get any better than this?  First we see Mike and Frank pick an item, then we take it to Rick for restoration and then I guess the Pawn Stars are giving it to The Old Man.  It looks like they are picking and restoring a ’57 Chevy.  Should be good.

Everything’s been in reruns for so long I almost missed this new special tonight.  I am so excited.

The Pick, the Pawn and the Polish starts tonight (Monday) at 10pm MT on The History Channel.

SYTYCD8: 2 of 14 Voted Off

So I am so embarrassed about three things.  One.  I completely forgot about Melanie and Marco.  How could I have forgotten about them??!!!  Their routine was amazing.  They danced beautifully and started the show off with a bang.  I loved the choreography, which I believe I commented on loving the choreographer but not the dancers.  Shame on me.  Second best performance of the night.  Should have watched the recap at the end.  Sorry.

And I completely forgot about Ryan and Ricky.  Once again praising the choreographer and not the dancers.  I’m on a roll this week.  And how, how in the name of all things beautiful did they end up in the bottom three?  I am so confused.

Then, Cat said there were four new choreographers last night but I only remember two!  Which I loved!!!!  Which other two were on the show last night?  Which routines did they choreograph?  I’d love it if you would tell me so I don’t have to go searching around for answers.  Help a girl out!

I enjoyed the contemporary ballet routine but hated the music.  Loved the outfits.

I am really struggling with the solos.  I’m totally and completely bored by them.  And then out came Ryan and she blew me away.  What I don’t get is I liked all of these contestants when they auditioned so why don’t I like their solos now?  I just don’t know.

I’m happy that Ashley and Chris went home.  Maybe happy is not the right word but I would have been upset if anyone else had.  They’ve had some great routines together but they’re not stand outs to me.  Awesome dancers but not the best.

And a quick shout out for Florence and the Machines!!  I love them.  And I mean love with a capital L-O-V-E.  They’re in my shuffle and my heart always flutters when they come on.  Finally a band I can get behind and not all these gimmicky wannabe’s with all their scantily clad dancers gyrating on the stage for all the tweens.  Oh.  I’ve told you before that drives me nuts.  Anyway.  Deep breath.

National Dance Day is July 30 at your local Six Flags.  Anyone going?  I know it’s advanced but I would love to learn a Nappy Tab routine.  Maybe I will just for me.

SYTYCD is on Wednesday at 7pm on FOX.

SYTYCD8: Top 14 Perform

First of all.  Wow on that last number with Mitchell and Caitlynn.  The whole show besides the group numbers was a let down for me and then came the last number.  I love Mandy Moore.  I don’t love all of her stuff.  Sometimes it’s just ok but when she gets it right, she gets it right.  And oh, baby, did she get it right.  I totally believed that the dancers were falling in love.  It’s so exciting at the beginning and you’re so into each other.  I 100% believed it.  That’s why I watch this show.

And the two new choreographers.  Where has Chucky been all my life?  He’s probably been living with Sonya Tayeh.  I am in love with him.  Quirky.  That’s the kind of stuff that gets my heart pounding and keeps me coming back for more.  What great additions to the show.  I can’t wait to see more from them both.

The two group numbers were awesome but the girls stole the show for me.  I agree with Cat.  I want to be in their gang.  It was cute to me that one of the girls described themselves as evil but I think a group of hot, sexy women ridding the world of evil men is something to aspire to.  Sign me up.  Especially if we get to dance while we do it.  I’m all in.

I really like the intros this week.  It was fun to see where everyone came from.  I loved how supportive all of the families were.  Even Mitchell who was homeless for a while had a mom who loved him and made sure his dreams were came true.

I just wasn’t feeling most of the show this week.  Sure there was Mitchell and Caitlynn and the group numbers but that’s not enough for me.  What did you think?

Perchance to Dream: Theatre Illuminata #2

Very long but telling description from Goodreads:

Act Two, Scene One

Growing up in the enchanted Thèâtre Illuminata, Beatrice Shakespeare Smith learned everything about every play ever written. She knew the Players and their parts, but she didn’t know that she, too, had magic. Now, she is the Mistress of Revels, the Teller of Tales, and determined to follow her stars. She is ready for the outside world.

Enter BERTIE AND COMPANY

But the outside world soon proves more topsy-turvy than any stage production. Bertie can make things happen by writing them, but outside the protective walls of the Thèâtre, nothing goes as planned. And her magic cannot help her make a decision between—

Nate: Her suave and swashbuckling pirate, now in mortal peril.

Ariel: A brooding, yet seductive, air spirit whose true motives remain unclear.

When Nate is kidnapped and taken prisoner by the Sea Goddess, only Bertie can free him. She and her fairy sidekicks embark on a journey aboard the Thèâtre’s caravan, using Bertie’s word magic to guide them. Along the way, they collect a sneak-thief, who has in his possession something most valuable, and meet The Mysterious Stranger, Bertie’s father—and the creator of the scrimshaw medallion. Bertie’s dreams are haunted by Nate, whose love for Bertie is keeping him alive, but in the daytime, it’s Ariel who is tantalizingly close, and the one she is falling for. Who does Bertie love the most? And will her magic be powerful enough to save her once she enters the Sea Goddess’s lair?

Once again, LISA MANTCHEV has spun a tale like no other—full of romance, magic, adventure, and fairies, too—that readers won’t want to put down, even after the curtain has closed.

And here’s my Goodreads review from the first book Eyes Like These:

This book is absolutely delightful. Wicked full of Shakespeare but that made it fun. I just didn’t know going into it. I can’t wait to follow Bertie’s adventures in the next book.

This second book is just as delightful and very adventurous.  I love the way the love triangle works out.  It’s not every day we see that kind of ending.  And Bertie turns out to be a very, very independent young woman who doesn’t take handouts or help very lightly.  She comes in this book to discover her magic and it’s a very empowering journey.  They’ve left the ending open for a third book and I can’t wait to read that too.  The Theatre Illuminata series is different from any series I’ve ever read and I like that.

Oh, and the covers…they are what made me pick up this series in the first place.  I seriously love them.

New Girl

Well, today is a slow tv day and I didn’t see any more movies over the weekend so I’m doing some wishful thinking about the Fall. When all my most favorite shows will come on fresh and new from their Summer break. I’m also thinking about the new shows that are going to pop up in the Fall and New Girl is on the top of my must check out list.

This clip is on the long side but as far as I can tell sets up the show beautifully. It looks heart warming. It looks funny. And how can you not be in love with Zooey Deschanel. I could eat her up she’s so cute.

I can’t wait for this Fall to come and this show with it. Anyone else been checking out the commercials for New Girl?

New Girl will premiere Tuesday, September 8th at 7pm MT on FOX. (The time might be off so check listings closer to the date.)

Jimmy Fallon Rap History Tribute

I swear this isn’t turning into a Jimmy Fallon fan site but after I posted the last one I remembered how much I loved this Rap Tribute with Justin Timberlake.  The whole sequence with Justin is pretty funny but when they busted out with this righteous tribute I was like “H to the E to the double L yeah!!”  That’s really the only intro it needs.  Enjoy!!

Expedition Impossible: Light My Way

I am so grateful for firefighters and cops.  So grateful.  They put their lives on the line in situations where I would be peeing my pants with fright.  I think they’re awesome.  I also think they’re funny.  Every time they showed a clip of one of the firefighters or cops telling us why being a firefighter/cop has made them the perfect candidate for this competition it cracked me up.  They’re getting there butts handed to them by a group of hippies and a bunch of good ol’ boys.  Both the firefighters and the cops are in the waaaay back of the pack.  They keep bragging about their training but looks like being a firefighter/cop doesn’t make you a naturalist naturally.  hee hee

And the Mom’s Army.  I didn’t know there was crying allowed in the Army.  Did Ruthie cry during basic training?  Did Ruthie cry while in battle?  I don’t know but Ruthie cried when she thought she was lost.  I’m not trying to be insensitive here.  I cry all the time.  But when your whole persona is ARMY,  ”I’ve been in the Army,”  ”I’m hard core,”  crying when you’re lost in the middle of a game is going to crack me up every time.  Every time people.

There are so many teams that I just am not interested in other than for comic value at this point.  I am all about Team Mustache all the way.  If this is anything like the Amazing Race or City Search they are going to plummet to the back of the pack any week now.  It’s going to be catastrophic.

Not as good as the Amazing Race because they don’t show all the drama.  Nobody’s calling each other out or threatening to leave the race…yet.  Maybe the really good stuff is yet to come?

Expedition Impossible is on Thursday at 8pm MT on ABC.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

I saw this movie last night with my husband and some friends and I’m sorry to say I’ve already forgotten most of it.  But this isn’t going to be a bad review.  I’m going to tell you all the stuff that bugged me but I’m totally glad I went to see it.  Gigantic intelligent robots, explosions, car chases, giant moving planets.  Really, how can you miss this?  And you’ll love our armed forces even more because they saved us from destruction and slavery.  I mean seriously, can you ask for more from a Summer blockbuster?  You can, and here’s where we get into what I didn’t like.

The movie was 2 1/2 hours long.  That’s at least 1/2 hour longer than it should have been, maybe more.   And you know it was too much when I say this next bit.  I think it had one too many fight sequences.  What!??!!  I know, I said.  Too much robot fighting.

Also, there were too many Decepticons.  I honestly couldn’t keep track of them.  At one point I thought Megatron was dead and then all of a sudden he was there again.  That means some other robot looked so similar to him that I couldn’t tell the difference.  I don’t like that.  I like knowing who is who.  I don’t want to be confused when watching a movie.

And this is totally shallow and petty but I don’t like the girl they got to replace Megan Fox.  You want to know why?  Because she looks just like her with those big, huge, pouty lips.  It drove me nuts to look at her.  I wish they would have gotten a completely different type of girl.  But I guess that’s the kind of girl they like.  Hot body and full lips.  Maybe I’m just jealous?

So there are so many things that drove me nuts about this movie but I got a night out with friends without my kids and got to see stuff explode.  That’s worth the money to me for sure.  Oh, and Leanord Nemoy is one of the Transformers!!!!  What the what?  I know.  It’s crazy but he is and I would watch the movie again just for that.

This movie is getting really mixed reviews.  Not as good as the first for me, but better than the second for sure.  What did you think?

Transformers:  Dark of the Moon is in theaters now.

SYTYCD8: Top 16

I need to admit to you guys that I had 45 minutes to watch both episodes this week so this post wont be as extensive as usual.  I skipped all the bios, all the intros, all the judging so I missed a lot.

Let’s talk about Sonya Tayeh for a moment.  I love her but I didn’t love the zombie routine.  I think Nigel was right and the music was detracting from the characters.  I however loved her second routine with the “leash”.  That was spectacular and telling and moving.  I 100% got that one.

And Nappy Tab.  They were on fire tonight.  I loved both of their routines.  That cheeky one at the end was so cute.

I know I didn’t take the time this week to really enjoy what was happening but I didn’t particularly like any of the group routines.  This is where I am really missing Mia Michaels.  She choreographed some amazing group routines.  You always knew which ones were hers.

The wheelchair routine was pretty cool.

The Dance for Your Life routines were way better this week.  The only one that I felt was lacking was Mr. Personality.  Which makes me so sad but I understand why he went home this week.  Miranda.  I don’t know what to say.  I guess one of the girls have to go so she’s the one.

I like everybody so much this year that I think every week is going to be a sad one.  What do you think?  Did the right couple go home?

SYTYCD is on Wednesday at 7pm MT on FOX.

MasterChef: Top 14 Compete

I just want to say real quick how much I enjoy this format of two people going home each week. It keeps things moving along nicely. I like it.

If I were feeding bikers I would have gone with Team Reds recipe for sure.  Not that I’m a biker expert but they don’t seem like the sweet sausage type.  Beer drenched toppings and sausage?  I would have thought that would be the clear winner.  I think if the Red Team was more organized and they actually fed the bikers sausage links that they might have actually had a shot.  I’m just amazed that the Blue team was so organized and well thought out that they could switch it up midway through and still come out with a win.  It was so much more fun to watch them work than the Red Team.

I got so mad at the preview at the beginning of the show because it showed Christine in the final challenge.  So they basically gave away the whole outcome of the biker cook off.  It drives me nuts when shows do that.

WHAT A TWIST at the end.  Giving Esther the chance to sacrifice herself or go free.  Woah.  What would you have done?  Being the type of person that I am, and always thinking everything is my fault I probably would have sent Max back and taken the challenge myself, but I’m not at all saying that is the right thing to do.  I think looking back if I were sent home I would kick myself and my husband would have thought I was crazy but that probably is what I would have done.

I am so torn about Max leaving.  He’s a jerk so good but he’s a jerk and makes good tv so bad.  I’m just really sad that I wont be hearing his condescending remarks anymore.  Or his cocky remarks.  I will miss them.

MasterChef is on Tuesday at 7pm MT on FOX.

ps  Christine has got a mouth on her.  Sheesh.

Wild Target

I seriously think this is my new favorite movie.  It’s definitely up there with Bride and Prejudice, The Bourne Movies, Pirates of the Caribbean movies (Still haven’t seen the last one.  Really afraid to.) and Whip It.  This is an English comedy with really dry humor.  I was seriously cracking up the whole time.  I mean from start to finish belly laughing.

Here’s the summary from Netflix:

When veteran hit man Victor Maynard (Bill Nighy) finds himself unable to kill his latest target, Rose (Emily Blunt), he winds up with an unexpected sidekick, Tony (Rupert Grint), who thinks Victor is a detective in this action-packed comedy from Britain. Now, with Rose and Tony tagging along, Victor tries to deal with the dual forces of his overbearing mother (Eileen Atkins) and a very angry client (Rupert Everett) who wants Rose dead.

Victor is a totally straight shooter (no pun intended) and he has OCDs and he’s wound up tighter than a clock.  Rose is a 100% free spirit and a cleptomaniac to boot.  There’s a sequence where she steals a whole outfit plus accessories just by walking through a market.  Tony is just a happy go lucky, believe anything you tell him kind of guy.  I just want to say real quick that I LOVE Rupert Everett.  I thought he was the absolute best part of the Harry Potter trio.  He was brilliant in this movie.

What I loved is that even the violence is funny.  Victor kills an innocent by accident and I laughed out loud when I figured out what had happened.  No gore in this movie.  A little blood but nothing to haunt you  afterwards.

I’m only writing this next part for my most sensitive of readers.  There’s a sex scene in the beginning but you hear it, you don’t see it and the sequence of Victor listening in is super funny.  It’s over the top which makes it ridiculous.

My husband did not like this movie because “I don’t like hit men with a softer side.  Wife and kids.  I just don’t like it.”  He thought the movie was funny and quirky and cute but couldn’t buy Victor’s situation.  Oh well, more for me.

Wild Target is available from Netflix.  It’s not Watch it Now so you have to wait for the disk but I say that it’s totally, completely worth the wait.

MasterChef: Top 15 Compete

I am dumbfounded right now. I can’t believe how this ended. Alvin was one of my absolute favorites. I loved his personality and I love the new methods of cooking that he uses. I am so sad that he isn’t on the show anymore. Why couldn’t they have kicked Max off? That guy is such a tool. Did you see how devastated everyone was when Alvin left? Super sad.

And what about Jennifer getting called out at the top of the show? How embarrassing!! Poor girl tried to please the judges and just made a really big mistake. If it had been an elimination round she would have been gone no question. I felt so bad for her. I was cringing thinking about how stupid she must have felt. Poor girl. But her dessert was good so she lives to cook another day.

I haven’t talked about how mellow Ramsey is yet.  Or that all these chefs are home chefs.  No training.  I’m assuming that’s why Ramsey is not cussing them out 24/7.  All the judges are very honest and truthful with the contestants but no temper tantrums yet.

OK, so this clip is from Father’s Day so a little dated but I just found it yesterday.  I came across a new blog, Hue and Hum, and while it’s too soon for me to say if I absolutely love it or not, I think I am going to love this blog if she keeps posting Fallon clips.  The blog is a girl who’s an artist (hue) and she’s married to a musician (hum).  We just moved here to Utah but I have heard the band’s name thrown around before so I’m assuming they’re pretty big here?  I don’t know.  It’s Fictionist.  I have it on my list today to check them out.

Anyway, here’s the clip.  It’s funny things about our dads.  Jimmy started a twitter feed #thatsmydad and the people from all over the world wrote in the funny or cute or sweet things about their dads.  These are the funniest ones.  I was literally convulsing with laughter as I watched this clip. The rocks and the garden hose and the jackleg were my favorites. But who am I kidding, I was pretty much crying the whole time with laughter at all of them.
