Survivor: Redemption Island: It Don’t Take a Smart One

There was a time when I would watch Survivor and fast forward through the challenges because I thought they were boring and all I cared about was who won.  But last night’s challenge was a nail biter and I watched every second of it.  First Ometepe was in the lead, then Zapatera, then they are fighting tooth and nail to get the last ball in.  Sometimes I wish I could lose weight just by tensing up while watching TV.  It’s gotta burn a couple of calories, right?  In the end Ometepe won immunity again!  They are doing so well.

I love to hate Phillip.  That guy is a nut.  He will totally switch sides the first chance he gets, and it looks like he’s going to get it next week.

I am already nervous about next week.  But, if David comes to Rob’s side and Matt doesn’t hold a grudge the numbers will be on Rob’s side.  If David wants to get rid of Rob just because he’s played the game before, and Matt votes against him too.  With Phillip switching sides it could go very, very badly.  I LOVE ROB!!!  I don’t want to see him go yet.  He is my favorite Survivor ever.

Either way, I’m sure there will be tons of drama next week.  Especially with Redemption Island coming back into play.  If I had to guess I’d say Matt wins again and reenters the game.  I guess I already said that in my last paragraph without spelling it out.  I am totally assuming he is going to win again.  I’m nervous and totally excited to see what happens when he comes back.

So, what do you think?  Is Rob a dead man?

Survivor is on Wednesdays at 7pm MT on CBS.

Survivor: Redemption Island: Their Red-Headed Stepchild

Well, kind of a boring episode.  Everything happened as expected.  Nobody did anything out of the ordinary or even fun.  Oh well, this is what happens without Russell.

It was kind of cute to see the two Christians bonding on Redemption Island.  I thought it was really sweet that Krista left her hot pink Bible for Matt.  I’m more of a cut throat Survivor fan but even I can appreciate how much that must have meant to him.

Speaking of Matt… is he going all the way or what?  That guy is unbeatable.  Oh yeah, and I LOVED when Andrea got jealous of Krista and Matt’s bond.  Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Or like a gorilla and a lion who feel threatened, I guess.  I can’t wait to see how Phillip amps up the attitude.  He is already a pain in the rear.  What is he going to be like next week?  I can’t stand Phillip but he makes thinks awkward and uncomfortable and he is extremely hard to live with so I say keep around as long as possible.  Make the beauty pageant girl squirm.

Can I just randomly throw it out there that I hate Julie.  That woman gets under my skin like no other.  She’s so high and mighty and she smiles at the most irritating moments.  Like she thinks she’s so much better than the person getting voted off.  And while this kind of behavior earns my respect in others, I have none for her and it just aggravates me every time I see her.

Which is pretty much how I feel about the entire Zapatera tribe.  Except David who finally figured out the game this week.  What took him so long?  Too little too late though.  Stephanie is gone to Redemption Island and if the past four weeks have any merit she will be gone next week for good.

Can you believe this Zapatera tribe?  It’s like they’ve never watched the game before.  I hope they get picked off one by one.

Seriously though, do you think Stephanie has a chance of beating Matt?

Survivor is on Wednesdays at 7pm MT on CBS.

Survivor: Redemption Island: We Hate Our Tribe

I’m disappointed.  The previews last week showed Russell’s old tribe falling apart and Russell’s girls getting in their heads.  None of that happened.  Decent episode but not at all what I was expecting.

Hooray for Rob’s team winning the challenge.  It’s about time and that challenge was custom picked for old Rob.  The deserve a win.  I don’t know about you but I was drooling over all those donuts.  That would have been an awesome reward to win.

And sneaky, beautiful Rob switching clues for the hidden immunity idol.  He “has to entertain himself somehow.”

Have I mentioned that I don’t like the Zapatera tribe.  Stephanie and Krista are the only two good things that tribe had going for them.  I will not be happy if they continue to dominate and take over the other tribe.  Can’t stand them.

I can’t believe Stephanie and Krista didn’t do more damage.  Hide some stuff.  Start rumors.  Anything.  I feel like they just gave up.  I do hope Krista does well on Redemption so she can join Rob.

What would you have done if you were in Krista and Stephanie’s position?

Survivor is on Wednesdays at 7pm MT on CBS.

Survivor: Redemption Island: Don’t You Work for Me?

Ok, first of all, let’s just take a moment of silence…  I can’t believe that’s how Russell went out.  I never, in a million years, saw that coming.  I honest to goodness thought he was going to dominate (I mean DOMINATE) Redemption Island.  I thought he would reenter the game and then it would be on.  The best come back ever!!  I am seriously in total shock.

I’ll give it to him though.  If he’s going to go out he’s going to take everyone out with him.  Awesome.  ”These two are aligned.”  ”That girl’s in charge.”  And then when stupid face (whose name I will not even look up on the internet) boasted about having the idol, I just about peed my pants.  What a freaking idiot.  Oh man, that was a colossal give away to the other team.

I can’t wait for Zapatera to start falling apart next week.  The preview looks fabulous.  Russell’s girls, Stephanie and Krista, are going to wreak some havoc and I can’t wait.  That team needs to go down.

I’m sad Ometepe lost again but I am thrilled to see that Rob still has control of the tribe.  They voted Kristina out just like he asked.  Way to go Rob.

In recap, I am so sad to see Russell go.  He was my second favorite player of all time.  I’m overjoyed that Rob is in such a good position.  I’m excited to see what Russell’s girls will do next week and I hope they carry on his legacy.

I’m pretty sure Kristina is going home next week.  She doesn’t seem like much a match for Matt.  What do you think?

Survivor is on Wednesdays at 7pm MT on CBS.

Survivor: Redemption Island: Keep Hope Alive

I cannot wait to see how this turns out.  I was skeptical about Redemption Island but now that Russell is there I am totally excited.  I hope he keeps winning and winning until they throw him back in the game.  Russell and Rob, my two favorite Survivors.

I was so sad that Matt won his challenge.  I really don’t want to see him come back into the game because I don’t want Boston Rob’s game to be in jeopardy.  Man, I love me some Boston Rob.  I wonder when the last player on Redemption Island gets to reenter the game?

And why, oh why, did they throw that challenge?  It never works out.  Something bad always happens.  Bad things  couldn’t happen to a better team though.  I want them squashed.  Eliminated.

I want Russell to stay in the game as long as possible.  He’s just good TV, but I definitely am rooting for Rob.

How long do you think Russell will cut it on Redemption Island?

Survivor is on Wednesdays at 7 pm MT on CBS.

Survivor Samoa: Tastes Like Chicken

11Aww yeah baby.  It’s Alisa again and I told you Russ was my man.  Well, maybe not in those words but he is awesome.  He’s so smart about those immunity idols.  I mean if you’ve watched the show before you know where they tend to be.  Anybody could have looked for them but only he did.  I love him.  It’s going to take a few more episodes for me to decide if I think he can actually go all the way but he is still my favorite right now.

I was a little mad at the show because they pretty much told us before it happened that Laura won immunity.  It took all the suspense out of it when Russell and Shambo laid out their plan and the only way it would be disrupted would be if Laura won immunity.  And so she did.  I don’t even know why I watched the challenge already knowing the outcome.

So it looks like no one will leave Russell alone next week.  Can’t say I blame them but how annoying that must be.  I want so bad for the boys to side with Foa Foa and kick of Laura.  She’s pretty much the devil to me.  She needs to be kicked off ASAP.

Oh, and how cute was it that Natalie killed that rat.  That was one of the cutest things I think I’ve ever seen on Survivor.

The only reason I’m sad Kelly is gone is because I love her hair and I will miss seeing it.  I wasn’t quite certain why they voted for her but I can’t say I really care.

So, what do you think is going to happen next week?

Survivor Samoa is on Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.

Survivor Samoa: Week 2

survivor19_blog_kickedoutWell, so much for balanced teams. Foa Foa lost another challenge, lost Mike due to health concerns, and had to vote another member off their tribe. (I haven’t yet seen who’s been voted off…) Next week they’ll be down 3 players! In the past, when a player has left the game for health reasons, they haven’t made anyone go home at tribal council, so that kind of sucks for them.

Now, I have 2 people to vent about. First, how in the HECK did Russell find a hidden immunity idol without even knowing there was one hidden?! Of all the people, he is the one who I would least like to have possession of an immunity idol. Sadly, my hopes for him going home soon are fading. Second, what the heck is wrong with Ben? That was one of the most gruesome challenges, and he was fairly warned before he kicked Russ in the shins. Honestly, between being kicked out of the challenge, acting like an a$$ and not even apologizing to his team, and then annoying everyone at camp, I really can’t see why they wouldn’t vote him off.

Well, I just watched the end, and I totally don’t get it. I can understand how voting the physically weak players off might be a strategic move, but if your stronger players can’t play fair, or even participate at all, how is that going to help? And they do have mental challenges as well. I guess with Mike gone, it was inevitable for Betsy. I feel bad though. I don’t think she deserved it.

The good news: Watching this episode proved to me that I could NEVER survive Survivor. Between living with rude, annoying people, not brushing my teeth for 2 months, sleeping in the wet/cold, and attempting to fight other people in hand-to-hand combat, I would surely die.

Survivor Samoa: Week 1

3I’ve decided to try something new. I just started watching the premiere of Survivor Samoa, and before I forget to say anything I’m thinking throughout the episode, I’m writing as I go along.

First, I forget how easy it is to make such quick judgments of people before you even know them. I like that they had to choose a leader without even talking to one another. And as much as it might be flattering to be the chosen one, Russell has the right attitude, and mindset, knowing that it’s a heavy responsibility, and if anything goes wrong, the leader is the first one to be blamed. But, overall, I think both teams chose well.

Speaking of snap judgments, it was definitely an interesting way to start a challenge. Never in my life would I have chosen the tall black guy as the best swimmer! However, that was a LUCKY guess. I know everyone hates stereotypes, but generally, they tend to be true! So, I was laughing out loud as Jaison said he was surprised to be chosen… and then to turn out to be a water polo player! I think that ONE decision won them the first challenge. Although Shambo kicked it in gear and almost finished her puzzle first, I would never have picked the woman with the mullet as the smartest person! In fact, she’s already bugging me…

Okay, the other Russell (from Foa Foa) is starting to piss me off! What a jerk! He emptied everyone’s water canteens, put Jaison’s socks in the fire, and has made an alliance with every woman, his “Dumb-ass girl” alliance as he calls it. As he started talking about Hurricane Katrina, I didn’t believe a word of it! And to make things worse, he’s a multi-millionaire?! Dude, that guy has to go!

I’m happy to see that each tribe as won a challenge. It always makes for a much more interesting and exciting game. And I’m glad it was Foa Foa who went to Tribal Council, although I really would have loved to see Russell go home. It has to suck for the first one to go home. Poor Marisa. If they had just one more week to get to know each other, I think they would start to see who is really valuable in the tribe and who is potentially trustworthy, or not.

I think it’s off to a great start! I’m really liking certain people, and hating others! And, if I do say so, I believe there is some nice eye candy this season! I am definitely hooked!

Survivor Tocantins: And the winner is…

SURVIVOR: TOCANTINSNow that I’ve blogged about the previous episode, and the fact that the finale was 2 hours, plus an hour long reunion show, I have to rack my brain to remember everything that happened.

I thought Erinn had NO chance of even making the final 3… but apparently I was wrong. She kicked it up a notch and almost beat JT in the challenge! Then, despite having an alliance with Taj (practically) the entire game, JT and Stephen decided to keep Erinn, because she was “easier to beat.” Honestly, I think that was an almost fatal mistake for both of them. (And that’s where Stephen lost my vote.) I don’t think Taj won a single challenge/reward on her own. So, I don’t think it would have done any harm to keep her and her trust. Did you see her devastation at the next Tribal Council? I was so sad for her!

Ultimately, JT won the final immunity challenge and got to choose who went home. (Yay!!) That was an intense tribal! The jury certainly did its best to get them to rat each other out. This was the point where Stephen lost all credibility. I know only one can win, but for saying from the beginning that he would be happy if either he or JT won, he certainly threw his best friend under the bus. Between that, and admitting that he would have probably kept Erinn, I think he lost any votes he might have possibly won. To be honest, I think if either one of them had kept Erinn, Erinn might have gotten a few default votes- for them not staying loyal.

In the end, I think JT had a lot more strategy than he led on. He stayed as loyal as he possibly could. Voting for Coach to stay last week certainly secured that vote. And by keeping Stephen, he secured Taj’s, and anyone else’s vote who might have gone with Erinn. JT said Erinn could be beat… but honestly, I think he knew that more people liked him than Stephen. So, although he made it out to be a difficult decision, byt putting loyalty ahead of “an easy win,” he truly kept the easy win (Stephen), and came out looking like the hero. He even admitted it after the fact, that he was faking being hurt by Stephen to get some sympathy! Smart!!

I’m so happy JT won. He was such a hard worker, played the game well, and was just an all-around good guy. As it should be, this was only the second time in Survivor history that someone won EVERY vote.

Survivor Tocantins: The Martyr Approach

I want to preface this post by saying: I wrote this Friday morning, on an airplane. I didn’t have internet access to post it until now… and yes, I have seen the Finale! I intentionally left everything exactly as I wrote it 3 days ago, although let’s just say, I found it very interesting how my opinion could change in just one episode. Enjoy, and another post will soon follow.

Well, it finally happened. Coach is gone. And after wanting him to leave for the last 4 or 5 weeks, I’m embarrassed to say that I’m actually going to miss him and his ridiculous-ness! Honestly, every episode he made me laugh so hard. And last night I finally realized why. He reminds me of Michael Scott. Did you notice his monologue at Exile? Let me paraphrase…”blah blah blah… I’m like my ancient Native American Ancestors who go out into the wilderness to become a man… Except I’m already a man… So, I’m going to become a better man.” You can script it better than that!

I also loved that Coach thought the game would finally be played honestly. Hello, all 5 left have lied at some point. And that’s how you play the game. I just wish I could see the players’ reactions watching the show after the fact.

Ultimately, I was glad the Stephen decided to go with Coach over Erinn. Erinn won’t stand a chance if she even makes the finals.

So, look at that! My 3 favorites made the final 4! I really think Stephen has played the best game and deserves to win, but I would be happy if it was JT or Taj. How about you?

Survivor Tocantins: “The Ultimate Sacrifice”

picture-1Hey, it’s Alisa blogging for Elaine today.  This was such a funny and at the same time heart wrenching episode.  How hilarious is it to watch Coach still trust JT?  The man is an idiot.  JT has lied to his face for weeks now (well, weeks to us, days to them) and Coach still thinks he’s running the show.  I would love to be a fly on the wall when these episodes air and Coach’s friends (Should I have put that in quotation marks?) see what’s been going on.  Do they totally watch it with rose colored glasses and side with him or do they think he is a delusional moron like the rest of us?

That was the wussiest auction ever.  To give Taj an opportunity to be alone on exile with her husband and give everyone else their loved ones was too mushy for me.  Of course she’s going to choose going alone.  Taj is not heartless.  She knows how badly everyone wants to see their family.  But isn’t part of the fun knowing that someone’s family member is mere feet away and they wont be able to see them.  I know I’ve proven to be a heartless B in the past and this is just another showing but that was all too happy for me.

But let’s go back to Coach again for a minute.  Everyone else has loved ones come to bring them some cheer and Coach has who?  His Assistant Coach.  What?  Are you trying to tell me there is no one he loves more than his Assistant Coach?  And judging from all the “stretching” they were doing maybe he is a loved one.  I’m not judging, just saying.

And then when Coach was like, “Do you know what they call me around here?  Dragon Slayer.  Because I slay the dragons.”  Um, does Coach not know that people are going to be watching this?  I’ve watched all the episodes and I’m pretty sure the only one who has ever called Coach a dragon slayer is Coach.  He’s had rants about it in his testimonials.  But I have never heard anyone else breathe a word about it.

Which brings us to the next Coach moment in Tribal when he says people call me warrior and “I didn’t come up with that, by the way.”  And Jeff says, “Let me guess.  Some chief in a small village…”  Oh man, laughed my butt off.  You have got to love Jeff.  He gets his insider information from the camera guys and such and just blows things up in Tribal.  He is amazing.

Now let’s talk about Stephen real quick.  What kind of a freaking genius is he?  Now, I have not math skill whatsoever so when he was explaining his strategy to remember the symbols he might as well have been speaking Greek to me but the hubs totally got it.  Wow.  That was absolutely incredible.  He totally deserved immunity after that show of brains.

So Scott (hubs) mentioned that Stephen is the brains and JT is the brawn.  Pretty much, right?  Hubs thinks that Stephen is ultimately running the show.  That even though JT is the mouthpiece and the one everyone goes to that Stephen is pulling the strings.  And seriously what is up with the fact that no one is trying to vote either of them off?  No one has turned against them.  Fascinating.

Then we have Coach trying to vote off Taj, clearly thinking his input actually matters.  And Debra trying to vote off Coach promising she would take Stephen and JT to the final two by sacrificing herself and coming in third.  What was that bit of craziness?  Ultimately it cost her and she was voted off to the utter surprise of Coach.

Elaine and I were talking and we’ve wanted Coach gone for so long that it’s disappointing every week he stays behind but in the end isn’t it funnier to watch Coach scramble and lie and still actually think he’s in control when that couldn’t be further from the truth?  I can’t wait to see his reaction next week.

So what’s your verdict?  You can’t believe Coach stuck around another week or you love watching him writhe in pain and dig his hole deeper and deeper?

Survivor is on Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.

Survivor Tocantins: They Both Went Bananas

sierra-faceWell, as usual, Coach has me baffled. He’s a total liar. He’s full of himself. He’s completely delusional and ridiculous. And unfortunately, he got lucky and won immunity. Dang it! This would have been the best time to blindside the guy. *sigh*

And again, I just can’t believe all the crap Sierra gets. Could you believe how Coach and Debbie acted? They were scrambling to get numbers, and they both freaked out at Sierra saying she wasn’t loyal. Hello?! They tried to vote her out! Even though they did send her home, I was at least happy that Stephen and JT realized what a fraud Coach is. (He’s gotta go before it’s too late…)

Honestly, I think Stephen is running the game. Everyone loves JT, but he’s sittin’ pretty because everyone likes him. Taj hasn’t done much lately, and same with Erinn. And speaking of Erinn, why did she vote for Stephen? I have no idea what she was thinking.

I guess we all knew Sierra was going to go at some point. I was just hoping they could have used her another week for numbers against Coach and Debbie. Then again- maybe that will help Coach will feel safe and they can blindside him next week…

Survivor Tocantins: Dragon Slayer

SURVIVOR: TOCANTINSI actually don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard watching a Survivor episode. Coach and Tyson were the standouts for me. Although I’ve been annoyed at Coach for most of the game, now I just find him entertaining. I think meditating is great- and totally works. But to me, it’s quite spiritual. And when someone does it for show (like Coach was doing) doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose? Oh Coach… And does he really believe all the crap that comes out of his mouth? The Dragon Slayer thing was so funny… and clearly the producers agreed, when they added the lightning effects. Jeff Probst’s take on Coach is quite amusing as well. You can read it here.

As for Tyson… that guy reminds me so much of my brother. His all-too-serious sexual references crack me up. In referring to Brendan and keeping enemies close, Tyson said, “He’s felt my warm, steamy breath on the nape of his neck. Even on the small of his back.” And when he won the challenge, “I kick ass, like I always do. And if any ladies want my phone number… ask.” I was quite proud of him for winning. I thought his shoeless effort might have given him the edge. And, although it may be a given… I was also proud to see that he drank water at the feast, while everyone else had champagne. I would imagine it might be difficult to stick to your standards in a situation like that.

There was quite a lot of scheming going on this week. So much, that I can’t tell who will actually trust and maintain their alliance. I think Brendan and Sierra are the only ones staying faithful to their “cross-tribe” alliance. Clearly, Taj and Stephen have no loyalty to it. I would never trust Coach, and I don’t think Tyson and J.T. can be trusted either. But my favorite moment had to have been after Stephen and J.T. planned to split votes between Brendan and Sierra, (making sure that JT wouldn’t be the one going home), and then Coach took ALL the credit! That guy has one big ego. They’d better blindside him before it gets too late!

In the end, Joe went home for medical reasons. (After all the medical shows I’ve watched, I could have told that guy he might lose his life with an infection like that.) The funny part to me was how sad everyone was that they weren’t going to tribal council! I would have expected people to hide it a little better. I always enjoy the show more after the merge. So, I’m looking forward to all the plotting and scheming to come.

Watch Survivor Thursdays on CBS, at 8pm PST.

Survivor Tocantins: “You’re Going to Want That Tooth”

Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian HighlandsTaj and Stephen found their immunity idol.  Thank goodness.  At least now if someone else gets sent to exile and gets all the clues, and this goes for both tribes, the Secret Alliance will hold the idols.  I thought it was very strange that Taj would give Stephen the idol for safekeeping.  It seemed really bad when Stephen was thinking of throwing her under the bus.  Who can blame him though after Taj’s outburst?  ”I’m hot today and I don’t care who knows.”  That is one of the stupidest things ever said in the game.

I am so mad at Brendan for not picking Taj to go to exile with him.  Of course it looks suspicious!!  And urgh, stupid Tyson and his stupid smarty pants brain.  I’m so mad at him for picking up on Brendan’s plan.  And then I totally freaked out when Debra chimed in that they shouldn’t tell Sierra they were going to vote him off.  Frickity frack.  I really wanted that alliance to go completely unnoticed.  I know it was asking a lot but a girl can dream can’t she?

Every time they showed Spencer I thought, “Who is that guy?”  They say his name and I don’t recall ever hearing it before.  My gosh, thank goodness he got sent home since I obviously didn’t even know he was on the show.  I did feel bad that he didn’t feel he could tell people he was gay.  JT seems like a really nice guy and it would have surprised me if he made a stink out of it.

Speaking of JT.  Was that not the manliest display you have ever seen to break a tooth and shake it off  to the point that you throw the tooth away and don’t think twice about it?  Stupid, yes, but very macho.

This was kind of a boring week especially for me since a nobody got voted off.  What do you want to see happen next week to spice things up?

Survivor is on Thursdays at 8pm PT on CBS.

Survivor Tocantin: “The Strongest Man Alive”

Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian HighlandsI love the opening of this show with Coach totally questioning Brendan’s ability to lead the team.  Well, it wasn’t really questioning was it?  It was more stating that Brendan couldn’t lead and should he happen to get voted off, the team would be better for having Coach as their leader.  You cannot pay for stuff this good.  I love to hate Coach.

Then I just about pissed my pants when Brendan didn’t tell Sierra about the alliance with the other team and then they went to the challenge.  You’d think that would have been top priority number one.  I mean really that could have gone horribly awry had Sierra not picked Taj to go to exile with her.  But according to the preview for next week it’s all going to come out in the open anyway since Tyson seems to suspect something.  Can’t wait to see the lies that come out of this one.

I’m glad Mama K was voted off this week.  If only for the fact that I think she would be a hard person to live with.  I did love her little tirade about Sydney sleeping without her bra on and how she was going to better her by sleeping without her panties.  Good times.

I hope to see Timbira fall apart one piece at a time.  I look forward to Coach’s demise.  Oh, how the “mighty” will fall.  Or at least that’s the way I want it to go.  How about you?

Survivor Tacantin is on Thursdays at 8pm PT on CBS.

Survivor: Tocantins: “Mama Said There’d Be Days Like This”

Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian HighlandsThe week goes by between episodes and I barely give any thought to Survivor so as I’m watching the recap I’m thinking, “Oh, that’s right.  Coach.”  Boy is that guy setting himself up for the biggest blindsided fall ever.  He climbs higher and higher up his own internal rungs and oh, I cannot wait for the day his tribe finally says a silent, stab in the back, goodbye to him.  I haven’t decided wether I want him on the jury or not.  Sure he makes for great drama but do I want to see him any longer than I have to?  I don’t know.  ”I cannot exist around people like that.  You can.” (Read: because you are lesser beings than I am.)  Coach is so full of himself it hurts.  And he’s not even good in challenges.  It’s so pathetic to watch.

I hate when teams start off uneven but I don’t mind too much if one teams dominates because they work better together.  Plus I like seeing Coach riled up every time he loses.  It’s probably time for the balance to switch next week but I’d love to see another Black team tribal since Coach clearly doesn’t have the power that he thought he did.  I love to hate Coach.  It makes it so much better when there is a villain!  So that being said, I guess I want him to stick around a while, I just want his downfall to be glorious.

I love this dual exile island bit.  What a great idea to form a 4 person alliance that no one else knows about.  Of course there will be talk about the two that are on exile but no one will know for sure.  I love this new twist to the show.  It’s going to make thing that much more interesting when tribal switch ups come.

I don’t have a favorite yet though I do enjoy watching Tyson play Coach.  Who stands out to you?

Survivor Tocantins: Let’s get rid of the weak players before we even start.

Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian HighlandsI am thrilled that Survivor has started again.  Right off the bat I noticed that they weren’t allowed to pick their teams so that means, hopefully, the teams will be more evenly matched.  Hopefully.  It also hopefully means the drama will be spread out.  I like to see both teams squirming.

I also noticed that the teams were color coordinated.  Do you think they told them before they left home what color they should wear?  I’m not sure I’ve seen that happen before in past seasons.  It just struck me as odd.  How many people just run around wearing orange and just happen to end up on the same team?

So the guy that really stuck out to me as a troublemaker is Benjamin, with the long hair.  The let’s get rid of the weak players fast guy.  He is going to get his butt kicked out of Brazil so fast, I cannot wait.  Who knows though.  Maybe the other jerks on his team will rally around him.  I can’t wait to see what happens with this guy.

Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian HighlandsFor those of you just joining our blog, the four of us are all Mormon.  So it’s hilarious to us when a Mormon shows up on one of our shows.  We will be keeping an eye on Tyson and his free spirited views on life.  I was wondering who was going to be the nudey on this show and it definitely surprised me that it was the Mormon.  Wouldn’t have guessed that one.

Then we have our first Tribal where someone gets voted off.  I was really, really surprised to see Carolina go home.  I thought for sure, and I mean for sure, Sandy was going home.  Sandy contributed nothing to the tribe.  She didn’t set up camp for them and then she took off to look for the idol while everyone was working. Which was hilarious by the way.  ”What’s a pace?”  I guess Carolina must have really gotten on everyones nerves.

So, was it everything you hoped it would be?

Survivor and Fiona Apple

j1bSo I hear Fiona Apple’s Criminal on the radio  and what do I think of?  Survivor.  Of course Survivor.  Remember when Jerri sang Criminal around the campfire in the second season in Australia?  ”What would an angel say the devil wants to know.”  Who was she singing it to?  Colby of course.  Was he impressed?  Not in the least.  Man I love Survivor.

Speaking of, Survivor Tocantins starts up Thursday night at 8pm on CBS.  Survivor is my favorite show on TV, rivaled only by the Amazing Race which starts up soon too.  You guys, my mouth is literally salivating just waiting for the show to start.

Who’s going to join me?
