The Biggest Loser: Week 11

nup_133596_0228Phew, that was a close one but we’ll get to that later.  What did you think about the beginning of the show when everyone had to pick their trainer?  I thought that was a really difficult thing to make the contestants do but seeing as how there was already anarchy going on why not just let everyone have their pick?  Mike flipping a coin though was a little ridiculous.  I know it would suck to hurt someone’s feelings but that’s a big decision to be left up to chance.  I love how his father said he was stupid but that all 18 year olds are stupid.  Well said.

I haven’t said it for a few weeks but you guys probably remember that I do not like Tara.  I still haven’t been able to pin point exactly what it is that bothers me but she does.  If she keeps winning immunity she’s taking the game.  At this point she’s got it in the bag she’s just got to keep on going.  I will say I think she did a great job pulling herself back from wanting to quit.  That must feel hard to be ganged up on all the time but she kicked it into high gear and did awesome.  I am glad that she didn’t lose her 4 pounds though.  Kristin deserved that title and I’m glad she got it.

Thank goodness Felipe is such a nice guy and everyone wants to keep him around.  I don’t think he has the drive to win the game but I would have been heartbroken to see him go home last night.  Amy sent me another link to a girl who I think goes to church with Felipe.  It has a current photo of him and some updates of what is going on with him.

I don’t feel bad about Aubrey leaving.  I really had no connection with her so she was just an extra person on campus for me.  I do hope that things come together for her and she’s able to lose the weight she wants to.  I only have three kids and I understand how hard it is to make time to workout.  Make time to blog, no problem.  Workout, yikes!

Maybe I’m just a cold hearted biatch but it makes me mad when Ron gets help with his challenges.  Let the guy finish by himself.  He chose to be on campus.  He knew what it would entail so let him man up and do it.  That’s probably really harsh to say considering from the preview that he’s ending up in the hospital next week but I don’t take it back.  If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.  What do you think?  Am I being irrational here?

The Biggest Loser is on Tuesdays at 8pm PT on NBC.

The Biggest Loser: Week 10

lsr_711_10I can’t believe I’m admitting that I can be such a pansy but I almost started crying when Felipe and his wife crossed the finish line of their half marathon together.  I cannot believe she actually ran that with him.  I loved when she was spanking him while he was running.  They were my favorite pair to watch.  I know that unless Sione, heaven forbid, and Tara get voted off Felipe has no chance of winning this competition but he’s still my favorite.

Of course the competition was between Sione and Tara.  I mean, give me a break, how could it not be.  Those two push themselves harder than anyone else on the ranch and I’m sure they probably have a bit more natural talent than the others too.

I thought Aubrey at some cookies though?  Didn’t they show her eating one?  Who on earth did she put minutes on then?  It would have been a waste to put them on anyone but Sione or Tara.

And how pissed off would you be if you were Tara?  She barely won but she won and then had her victory taken away.  Oh man, I’m not sure I would ever talk to Helen again.  I mean seriously, would you?

I’m so mad that Ron had immunity this week.  Every week that passes is a week I wish he was home.  I’m not sure how I feel about Cathy sending herself home.  I mean, wow, that’s awfully nice but come on, this is a game!  This season has been way too touchy feely nice for me.  I don’t want all the crap from last season but a little in between would be nice.  A little game play and not so much “who deserves to be here?” garbage.  I mean come on, who’s your biggest threat people?  Find out and kick them off.  No more “well, who’s got the most support at home?” bologna.  Too nice!

All in all, I’m really happy for Sione.  If it can’t be Felipe I definitely want it to be Sione.  And I just tried to ignore that they were working out with Bob.  I’m gonna try to let that one go.

Would you have eaten a cookie and if so, who would you have put the minutes on?

The Biggest Loser: Week 10

nup_133501_0102Holy drama, Batman!  I’m so glad that nobody got sent home from last weeks show but yikes!  Pitting the teams one on one against is other is harsh.  Tara did a super fantastic job though pairing everybody up.  I thought it was strange that she wanted to sit out until she said that she wouldn’t lose the head to head that way.  Smart thinking.

Has the black team never, ever in their lives watched The Biggest Loser before?  These luxury rewards are total set backs.  They’re not good.  They’re not healthy.  They are one big, huge, in your face temptation and every single one of them failed.  When they ordered appetizers I knew the whole evening was shot.  When Jillian said they binged she was right.  Especially Filipe, my guy.

Speaking of…what do you think about Felipe’s breakdown?  I absolutely understand being upset with Jillian for not working him out and that coming out in a non-constructive way but completely bailing out was not cool with me.  That’s garbage.  I’m am totally pissed with Bob for letting them join his team.  That’s not the way the game works.  You’re assigned a trainer and you stick with that trainer.  Has this happened before that someone switched trainers and everyone was just OK with it?

I was so mad that the black team won the weigh in.  Well, sort of.  The black team is my fav and I want to see the blue team picked off one by one but the black team didn’t deserve to win.  The screwed up big time and just won by the skin of their teeth.  I hope they regret not working hard on their reward.

And then what is going on with Ron?  Why does everyone give him so much power?  I am sick of it.  Why would the sisters vote for Cathy and not Ron?  He is obviously the weakest player and he should go home.  Why, why on earth do they keep him around?

Then holy twist.  Did you guys see it coming?  I was totally, 100% caught off guard when Mandi started talking.  I absolutely did not see her putting down Ron’s name.  That was very brave of her to make sure she went home instead of Aubrey.  I absolutely hope she makes it down to a size 2.  Hopefully karma will be on her side.

Great episode, right?

Update:  The Biggest Loser is on Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.

The Biggest Loser: Week 9

picture-2OK, so I was pretty upset with The Biggest Loser’s blue team last week but now I’m mad at the producers.  How can they make this a to be continued show?  So much is at stake here!

Didn’t you just feel all warm and fuzzy inside when Mike gave his groceries to Aubrey?  Me too.  That was awful, stinking nice of him to do.

I was disappointed because I thought I was going to see Felipe yell at Jillian this episode.  Way to leave me hanging.

And Laura.  I’ve had enough of Laura.  If they lose this challenge I would not be sad if she went home.  I’m glad Jillian was so mean to her.  She needs to start stepping up and pushing herself.  It made me so mad when she sat out of the challenge.  She’s the new Carla.  Everyone can see that she’s not pulling her weight (no pun intended Laura) and they’re going to vote her off.

So, since we’ve got a whole week to think about it… If they do lose who do you think will go home?  My guess is Laura from the black and Mandi from the blue.  What’s yours?

The Biggest Loser Week 8 Part 2

picture-52OK, great reward for the challenge but for me, I didn’t need for this to be an hour long show.  Great weigh in though.  Everyone did really well.  Some better than others of course but there were no major disappointments.

Now, the whole show fell apart for me after that.  What in the name of Biggest Loser happened?  I am beyond shocked that the blue team voted Dane off.  Are they stupid?  Why on earth are they keeping the weakest player around?  I know this is ultimately an individual game but they’re going to keep having to vote people off with Ron around.  He doesn’t even pull his own weight.  His whole team has to make up for him!

I know that I hate it when this show gets all Survivor but give me a break what is up with the love fest going on?  It’s making me sick.  Poor Ron, there’s no way you can do this at home so we’ll sacrifice ourselves and send our strongest player home.  Gag me!  Are these people in it to win or not?

What with everyone crying Tuesday night and now this load of crap I’m pissed off.  My only consolation is going to be seeing Bob’s reaction next week.  I can’t wait.  He better lay into them or at least work them out until they piss themselves.  I’m mad.  I hope he is too because Bob’s a game player and  Ron is playing for the other team now.  TRAITOR!!

I’m also put at ease because the preview to next week’s show has Jillian doing something really mean to Laura.  I don’t know what it is but I can not wait to see.

Stupid crying, sniveling episode.  It’s hilarious because last season with Vicky was so mean and horrible and this season rather than just evening out has totally flipped the bill.  My gosh am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous or do you agree with the blue team’s decision?

The Biggest Loser Week 8 Part 1

picture-36I know I said this last season when they did this exact same split but I hate it when they put shows on different nights than usual.  (Hem, hem, American Idol.)  If you haven’t figured it out already I have an extensive viewing schedule and it messes everything up.  In my head at least.   That being said, what is Wednesday nights show even going to be about?  They’ve already done their challenge, right?  So it’s just the last chance workout and the weigh in.  There better be some additional twist or this is going to be boring.

OK, focus…I loved the switch of teams.  I’m so mad at Sione because I feel like he gave up and right at the last minute he could have had it.  But, now Jillian has a kick A team.  The cards really are stacked in her favor.  I love her new team.  I think they’ll do great as long as Bob’s old teammates don’t totally screw things up.  I know Sione is sad but if he continues to give up I hope Felipe pins him to the ground and kicks the snot out of him.

So much crying.  I was pretty much laughing the entire time because all I could think about was cheer camp and our church’s girl’s youth camp where you totally think the people in your group are your friends for life and you’ve never been closer to anyone before in your entire life and then you leave camp and never talk to them again.  It’s so real when you’re in the middle of it.

Bob annoyed me when he was in the gym talking to Kristin.  I just kept thinking “You’ve got a new team Bob, suck it up and welcome them into your group.  Stop whining.”  Maybe you think I’m being harsh.  I probably am, I just have no tolerance for crying on my favorite shows.  Especially when Bob had several members of Jillian’s team who were probably feeling really lost and hurt because they weren’t with their trainer anymore.

So what about the 24 hour challenge?  Great planning on the producers part to solidify those new teams together.  They really had to work hard as a team.  And I love how Sione rallied the troops together when they wanted to give up.  I bet Bob would have killed his team when they suggested giving up.  That image cracked me up.

Well, we’ve got new teams and a whole other hour to watch.  What do you think about the team mix ups?

The Biggest Loser is on Wednesday night, February 25th at 8pm on NBC.

The Biggest Loser is normally in Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.

The Biggest Loser: Week 7

picture-32Wow! This season couldn’t be more different than last season if it tried.  Everyone is so friendly and nice and really seem to care about each other.  Well, now that Joelle is gone at least.

You guys know I’m not that big a fan of Tara.  It’s not that I don’t think she’s a hard worker and could totally win this thing, it’s something else that I can’t quite put my finger on.  But seriously, what is her problem?  She’s known Blaine for 7 weeks and her whole world falls apart when he goes home?  Really?

And I understand that she feels like she’s working harder than Laura but almost every single team has a player that is losing more weight than the other.  Look at poor Mike.  He’s pulling all the weight for his team.  Even my favorite Felipe is totally dwarfed by the amount of work Sione is doing.  I’m hoping she’s just PMSing and next week there wont be as much whining.  Especially since Laura lost more than she did.

I loved that two teams got the gym this week and I love that the pink team, who are my least favorite, turned one side into a lounge.  That was just silly beyond belief.  And then fell below the yellow line.  It’s just poetic how that worked out.

I got from the interviews that Shanon wanted to go home to make her mom happy.  Not that she necessarily wanted to go home for herself.  That seemed a little odd to me that Helen would stay and send her daughter home.  I cannot imagine my mother sending me home for a second time to fend for myself.  Then again, if I knew I would stick to it at home and I knew my mom needed extra help I might elect to go home.  What a hard decision.

Either way, no loss for me.  The only team I care about are Sione and Felipe.  Next week looks awesome.  If Bob is really going to cry I’m all in.  I can’t wait.

So, what did you think about the pseudo drama this week?

The Biggest Loser: Week 6

picture-5What an emotional week.  At the very beginning of the show the did a “Pop Challenge,” like a pop quiz.  Just pulled them out of the house and out by the pool where they had to stand on a block on one foot.  Whoever stayed on the longest won 24 hours with a loved one on the ranch.  It got down to four people and all of a sudden Mandi starts asking people to step off their block and give her the reward.  They did and she won.

Then she’s so excited and tells Jillian what she’s won and Jillian flips out.  Telling her she’s the last person she would have wanted to win that particular reward.  Jillian is afraid it will be too distracting and that she wont lose the weight.  I was kind of devastated for Mandi when Jillian went off on her.  Turned out OK though.  She lost 6 lbs which is respectable.

Then we have the purple team beating out the green team in a head to head immunity competition.  I was so proud of the purple team.  I know everyone I talk to is all about Tara but I’m not.  She gets on my nerves so I was overjoyed with the purple team as they celebrated their victory.

And oh boy did they need it.  Cathy pulled off a 4 which is OK, not great, but then Kristin gets +2.  She was one pound away from being in the 200s and the poor girl pulls a +2?  How devastating.  My heart was crushed for her.  Thank goodness they won immunity.

Then, I told you she gets on my nerves, but what was up with the waterworks from Tara when the black team was up for elimination?  And the yellow team lost it too.  The black team must have been awful nice for everyone to fall apart like that.

They are now doing single eliminations.  A team falls under the yellow line and only one of its members goes home.  So here’s Bob going around telling all his team members to vote of Dane.  ”Vote only Dane.”  I can’t wait to see what he has to say next week when he find out two of his teams voted for Blaine.

Blaine was very convincing as he tried to get the group to vote for him since he has a newborn at home that he’d like to see.  I would have voted for him to go home for sure after that speech.  I’m so excited that Blaine is going to do an Iron Man before the finale.  What a great goal.  Not one that I ever plan on doing but a great goal for him.

I’m just ecstatic that Sione and Filipe are doing so well.  They did exceptionally well this week.

Oh, and who can forget the huge number Mike from the brown team pulled off (13).  That poor kid has to pull the weight for himself and his father.  I’m glad they got his eating worked out so he got the number he deserved this week.

This was an emotional episode for me.  How about you?

The Biggest Loser: Week 5

picture-3Woah.  What an incredible week.  First with the weigh in of the contestants that were at home.  Go Sione.  Twentyfive pounds!  He wanted it bad.  It’s not really that big of a shock though because they always showed clips of him working out so they kind of set it up for us.

Then the workouts for those that came back.   When they showed Sione on Shanon’s back and she was totally grossed out I couldn’t help but laugh.

And then there was Joelle.  Just wandering around watching everyone else workout.  Before they went to weigh in I totally thought she’d pull it off only from pure, dumb luck.  She deserved a zero and she got a zero and I’m really glad she got to see that number.

Fat lot of good it did her though.  She didn’t even care or think she did anything wrong.  And I agree with the other people on the ranch that her answers and comments make no sense at all.  None.

The whole time since Carla has been off the ranch I’ve been wondering if their friendship is going to be able to overcome this.  I’m so sad that it hasn’t.  I wonder what drove Joelle to do it in the first place.  And where they really that good of friends before this experience?

I don’t know but I am so happy that Joelle is off the ranch.  It’s too bad they couldn’t have gone down to singles a little early so Carla could stick around.  I sincerely hope that Carla breaks the record for most pounds lost by a woman.  That would be incredible.

Do you think the competition is going to step up now that Joelle is gone? No one wants to take her place as the person in the bottom, right?  Though it seems like the brown team is destined to go home next.  What do you think?

The Biggest Loser: Week 4

704First I want to say that it was a little harsh for Jillian’s team to ask Bob’s team who they wanted voted off and then blindside them.  It did put Bob’s team in an awkward position with Joelle.  That being said.  It is a game and Jillian’s team did what they thought they needed to do strategy wise.  So I can see both sides to this.

How sweet was it that Blaine got to go home and be with his wife while she had their baby?  I hadn’t anticipated that happening so it was an absolutely wonderful surprise for me.  I can’t imagine what his wife was feeling like without him.  Lonely and scared.  I don’t know but I’m so happy he was able to be there with her.

I absolutely felt the food challenge was a freaking waste of time for Dan to win.  Every time they show Dave he’s smoking or stuffing his face with fried chicken.  I was so mad that he got to have the chef visit his home because it seems like he wouldn’t walk away with any positive skills.

While we’re on the subject of Dave, the guy just pisses me off.  Has he tried at all?  I don’t remember his first week on the ranch but he seems to think he doesn’t need to do anything while he is at home.  Then he comes back to the ranch and says he doesn’t want to be there.  It’s fine at home, send me back.  Bull!  That’s the biggest load of crap.  He just doesn’t want to do it.  It’s too hard and he’s not willing to put forth the effort.

Which brings us to Tara.  I had a talk with the girls this morning and we had a disagreement over Tara’s words and vote.  So here’s my opinion.  I agreed with the things that Tara said to Dave.  He didn’t understand what a big opportunity he was passing up and he needed to be called on it.  But then I disagree with her.  I do not think that Dave deserves to be on the ranch.  At all.  The brown team wants it.  They are fighting for it.  They deserve to be there.  Enough said.

I am so excited to see Sione back on the ranch.  He and Felipe are still my favorites.  I think they can do this.  I really think one of them can win.  They both seem to be incredibly hard workers and just so much fun to watch.

So it’s controversial.  What did you think about last nights vote?

The Biggest Loser is on Tuesday nights at 8pm PST on ABC
