The Office: Shareholders Meeting
I just loved everyone’s reactions to Michael being picked up by a limo. And even more so than that, Michael first stating that town cars are better, but completely saying the opposite when he realized it really was a limo for him. I sometimes forget that The Office is set in a small town. They were all like 5-year-olds, running out to catch the ice cream truck. It was pretty amusing. And I loved Erin’s line: “It’s like what high school kids take to prom on t.v. shows.” (I went to prom in a limo…)
Oh, and poor Michael. Totally had no clue that people were there because they were mad… However, I was thoroughly entertained by Dwight’s line-choosing. It’s like traffic. Whichever lane you’re not in is always moving faster. And as soon as you move to that lane, the one you left will start moving quickly. Maybe it was especially funny because it was happening to Dwight.
I’m really curious as to how Dunder Mifflin will stay afloat. Maybe I’m an optimist, but the show wouldn’t go on if they went out of business and everyone lost their jobs. (I suppose it could be a season-ender.) But at this point, I have little concern.
Overall, not the funniest episode ever- but I LOVE this deleted scene and wish they had kept it in the episode! Enjoy!
The Office airs Thursdays at 9pm PST, on NBC.

What keeps me going with this show are the little things. When I think about an episode as a whole, it’s not usually the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. But, the characters are so real, and the combination of them all, the little nuances, and their interaction between each other make me love watching. Seriously- who doesn’t love Dwight, and the way he reacts to Jim’s “encouragement?” Only Jim could get Dwight to beat himself up, without Dwight realizing it. And while Michael is clueless, and clearly does not know how to run a branch, his ridiculous game of murder mystery was actually a decent distraction from them potentially all losing their jobs. (Who else would get both Stanley and Angela to stay by offering a sandwich platter… and baby carrot sticks?) I loved that Creed leaves work, because, quite possibly, he really has murdered someone… And I love it when Jim actually realizes that in some way, Michael is valuable as a co-manager. Isn’t that why we’re all married? So, one of us can plan our lives out, and the other can play games and keep everyone happy? As funny as their “talking heads” were, I have to say, that is a decent description of what the balance between my parents was, and possibly the balance between my husband and me as well. But, I can’t forget to mention my absolute favorite part- when Oscar attempts to talk in a southern accent. I’m still laughing thinking about it.
It’s Alisa for Elaine this week. How funny were Dwight and Andy trying to one up each other? And can you believe Dwight actually thought buying bagels for the office could get Jim fired or himself promoted? You just can’t underestimate the lengths Dwight will go to to get what he wants.
This episode will go down in my book as one of the very best! While some of it was disgusting, (the throwing up) some of it was just sad, (Jim spilling the beans on Pam’s pregnancy) and some of it was just perfect (Jim and Pam getting married on a boat before the ceremony) it all made me laugh, want to vomit, laugh, cringe, laugh, cry, and laugh some more! I will be watching it again after I finish writing this.
I thought Toby and Dwight’s sub-plot was the best part of the eipsode last night. The funny thing about Dwight- even when he’s being irrational and ridiculous, he may actually have a point. So, when he didn’t believe Darryl and his worker’s comp claim, I actually didn’t believe him either. However, my guess was that Darryl broke his foot playing football with his…uh, sister? But, Dwight’s sleuth skills were pretty funny. And even funnier was the bond he and Toby made. Does Toby finally have a real friend in the office?
I apologize for not writing about The Office in quite awhile. (Thursdays are my busiest tv night.) However, seeing as it was the Season Finale, I can’t not blog about it.
